I have a niche blog that is about a year old and it is ranking well for some low competition keywords. I have done no SEO work on it other than optimising my website and the articles using Yoast.

For a site that has had no SEO work done to it yet, what would you do with $100? Are there any SEO essentials i should be buying as a foundation for my website? I was thinking of purchasing one of the cheap "foundation" link packages from one of the top sellers at seoclerks - is that a good idea?

I plan on budgeting more to SEO in the future but as a start, what should i buy with $100?

Thanks!

$100 is not enough of course!

But what would be my first go-to option here? Ahrefs all the way!

Ahrefs - one month plan

1. Find all your competitors via Ahrefs;
2. Download all the keywords & backlinks your competitors have
3. Start creating content for the keywords that you are not ranking for (topical relevance, on-page optimization, etc.)
4. Start investing more money for backlinks

right to the point

i will add Rinse and Repeat

If I only have $100, I won't buy anything and do everything myself. You need at least $1k to start doing SEO these days.

I'd suggest you to buy keyword research reports instead of backlinks at this budget. This can help you quickly grow your site so that you can think about backlinks.

this sounds good. and i would add, rather than a full month membership, get free trials. its the better bang for the buck with ahrefs for beginners

Well, nothing, with that budget you can only do on page, off page is expensive

Spend those $100 with your girlfriend in a nice dinner to celebrate that your site is doing great so far
(if you don't have one, go out and invite a stranger a couple of drinks)

- Surfer SEO trial or 1 month subscription for onpage SEO

- Ahrefs 1 week paid trial for keyword research.

- Then the remaining can be used to buy a couple of good PBN links or a niche relevant expired domain with backlink from top authority sites for 301 redirect.

You should focus on the on-page & keyword optimisation in the 1st place,
If you do have limited fuel, you'll have to set a destination before launching a rocket, other than that it gonna be a lost gamble most of the time,
For the links, I would go for some high quality PBN renting service,
Buying cheap guest posts or PBN or any kind of links is simply not worth it and not going to make the same impact (if any at all) or it will last (usually a temporary boost)

I would register 15 domains and a hosting that I would pay monthly.

And I would use some content written by myself. Then also make some software or scripts to make it semi-automated.
For sure I would cover a wide range of topics, then I would see where I can rank.
I would not conclude anything in less than 8 months.

Doing it right now. :D

I would bet the $100 that you won't follow any of the advice here...
