If You Don't Know Where You're... You'll End Up Somewhere Else.

I've seen tons of threads on this forum where people have managed
to get hold of a tool, script or software and then they ask how they
can use whatever they've got to make money.

    Wrong!

That's like me buying or borrowing a cement mixer, a trowel and a
hammer and looking for somewhere to build a wall.

The first place to start is to figure out what you want to achieve:
    • Do you want to build a bunch of "made for adsense sites"?
    • Do you want to make money from lead generation?
    • Do you want to build affiliate based money sites and then
create a network of feeder sites to generate traffic?
    • Do you want to build a list?
    • Do you want to create and sell your own products?

When you know what you plan to do and how you want to do it
then, and only then, is the time to figure out which tool will best
    help you.

If you jump from one thing to another you end up going round in
circles. If you focus on building your business based on a proven
long term strategy, you'll be able to tell immediately if the latest
tool or technique can help you.

    It's Easy!

yeah its hard trying to stick to 1 thing - i set my plans for the day and get side tracked fast, like landing in this forum LOL!

im glad ruck shared it :) i cant stay away ive just been reading and downloading all day.

Just set up realistic daily plan with 4-6 things you want to achieve for the day with the bigger goal in mind, then you just need to figure out how long it will take to get to your Big Goal and set it up in steps stick to it then you will achieve it. I use a spread sheet to set up my daily work plans.

I am also thinking to use to set up my daily work plans. I am wasting too much time in mindless surfing.

I see a lot of this as well. There is one thing I discpline myself to and that's not to purchase ANYTHING until I know for sure it's going to somehow further my online businesses. The same discipline should be applied to tools and downloads as well. Unfortunately, I can't control the discpline to NOT download a freebie as opposed to something that costs money.

It's just an impulse, one that can overwhelm you and make you forget what your doing, where you are, and what got you here in the first place.

Great post, and excellent logic. There is a ton to learn from here.

Sure, if that's what you want to concentrate on.

However, Google has tightened up their rules so you need to
pick between two Made For AdSense methods..

    1. Create a small number of high quality content sites each month
    and slowly build your portfolio.

    2. Create hundreds of crap sites each month, knowing that Google
will probably de-list the vast majority of them and eventually they
will send you an email terminating your account.

Unless you have a fairly big budget, I'd suggest you go for #1

Let me expand on this because while true it is not the whole truth.
Remember that he was talking about Adsense.

First the crap sites. They work but not as well as they used to. Google is right on to them. A pretty template doesn't fool them. A page full of markoved gibberish has a life expectancy of days or weeks.

But what is high quality? Let's face it there is a big difference between a site of fishing articles written by a keen fisherman and one made by someone chucking a bunch of cheap PLRs into an Xsitepro template.

Or is there..? They say "content is king" but that isn't strictly true. You aren't making an Adsense site to please people. You want them to be disappointed and click on an ad to get away.

    (continued)

"Content is King".. yes and no. A quickie site with PLR articles can easily outrank better sites if they have enough backlinks thrown at them (by using our dastardly spamming methods)

If you make hundreds of really crappy scraper sites you can't promote them properly. Perhaps a good compromise would be to make or buy ten "so so" sites a month with PLR articles and then promote them better, use silo linkage and so on.

That is for Adsense. Affiliate sites are a different story.
Look at http://armyofblogs.com/ Bud really is an expert on white and black blogging. He tests, reviews and compares all the products and methods.

You know he is not some whore "guru" pimping the latest get rich scheme to a list of suckers. Because of that I'll bet he does very nicely with affiliate links from his blog.

Oldie but goodie. Was just "using the search function", and found this small, short thread from waaay back. Normally, people hate bumps on old threads as they push dead methods. I thought this was a good example of "some things never change".

It's so hard for me to stay focused, but I only bought Scrapebox to help my existing sites. Sites with AdSense, content locks, etc. My problem though is that before I thought all I needed was a popular site and then I'd have all the money I can get out of it by putting AdSense ads up. Then I realized annoying people can be very profitable. I was focused on popularity until I realized how well CPA content unlock is working for me now. It's not much, only a few bucks a day, but I'm only ranking 9th for my keyword and I haven't done any SEO except on page and a blast or two. And other keywords a can target total almost 200,000 searches instead of just my one keyword with 3,100. The first spot should be almost 60 times what I get in the 9th spot.

I agree with crystal. How can you say something won't work for you when you haven't tried it out?
