For example, my category page is iphone 8 cases. On the category page, between each product title and price, the TAG link of the category iphone 8 cases will be displayed (a function that comes with the template), resulting in this The category page contains a large number of keywords iphone 8 cases. Will this lead to too high keyword density? Will I be punished by Google? Is it necessary to remove this functional attribute?

Having lots of repeated tags like "iphone 8 cases" on your category page might upset Google and hurt your website's chances of being seen. Think about removing or reducing this feature to improve how your site shows up in searches.

Not necessarily,
If you're trying to rank the category page then you might need to remove these and add some content to the page,

Not a critical problem tho, you still can rank while keeping them, but i believe removing them for most themes won't be such a problem,
At worst case, you'll need to edit the theme files or make a custom plugin that will hide them in all or specific category pages

After deleting this function, the keyword density is reduced from 3.5% to less than 1%. Will this help improve the ranking of target keywords on category pages?

So it's necessary to remove this tag feature, right? Deletion will greatly reduce the density of this keyword, possibly from 4% to less than 1%. Since my category page has been stuck on page 2 or 3 of Google, will deleting it help improve the ranking of the category page?

possibly, not guaranteed,
they don't have as such influence or impact, i've seen many category pages ranking despites having such links (tags),
Adding some description (content) before or after the category posts listing will also be helpful,

Overall, having them is just not as per the requirements of the best practices for the page SEO,
removing them won't magically move the page to the top, just another step to get the page a better on page,
you might still need more domain authority or/and links to the category page to rank,

Getting more internal links toward the category can also get it boosted,
Both contextual & navigational links in the main/footer/sidebar menus

If you can remove the category page in the url I would. As others said it isn't a magic bullet but everything counts.

Keyword density matters, but it's more about how natural it feels. If 'iPhone 8 cases' is repeated so much it looks spammy, it could raise flags.

I’d say, review the page. Does it read well to you? If it feels forced, consider toning it down. Had a similar issue with a client's e-commerce site. We dialed back on the repetition and used synonyms. Helped the flow and still kept the SEO juice. It's not 2010 anymore; user experience leads, keywords follow.

If your category page repeatedly shows "iPhone 8 cases," it might increase keyword usage, but it's usually okay as long as it feels natural. Google won't penalize you, but if it seems too much, consider making it more user-friendly by toning it down.
