These are cartoon videos " Tom and Jerry for instance", so what should I do ?

1. Do I need to mark them for kids?
2. Will they be displayed for adults if I mark them for kids?
3. Will adults also be able to watch them ?
4. Will Adults see all ads or only ads that are set for kids?

When you change YouTube's 'Made for kids' setting to YES the following 3 things change: 1) No personalized advertisements get displayed before, during or after your video. This will get potentially get you lower revenues. 2) Commenting on your video is no longer possible. 3) The cards and end screens features are not available for this video. This means you cannot link to external sites.

What happens to your channel if you change settings to “Made for kids”
1) No stories
2)No community tab
3) No notifications
4) No channel membership

I still get Gumball and spongebob recommendation on YouTube

You get more views but less revenue if you mark them for kids. Your channel may get banned if you make videos for kids and don't mark them.

Kids videos channels (not marked for kids) get banned for the following reasons:
  • Sensitive material like suicides, characters setting themselves on fire etc. (kids replicate such actions)
  • Comments by other users targeting kids
  • Ads inappropriate for kids displayed in the videos
There are several similar issues. I've read about such incidents from News and heard from other marketers. It's considered blackhat if you make videos for kids and don't mark them.

Are Tom and Jerry cartoons considered for kids ? Do they have to be marked as " for kids' ?

Rules aren't clear. I am asking a simple question: " are all Tom and Jerry" cartoon made for kids ? Are they all marked as " for kids" ?

Yes cartoons will be marked "for kids" once the system detects even if you did not mark

So, I marked them for kids.
this has been a long time since this thread, Do you mind sharing your experience, was it worthed to mark as made for kids ? more views? less revenue ? do you mind sharing overall experience
