Wrote a highly optimized article containing the keyword for a local plumber. It's currently ranking #2 for [area name] plumber. I want users to click on the link and get redirected to the home page with all the company's information and services, not to the article. So I downloaded a wordpress plug in. It's working as planned and when people click the search result they get directed to the home page.

The only thing I'm worried about is will I lose my rankings by doing this? Does the juice get transferred to the home page? The current setting is a 302 (temporary) redirect. I chose this because the plug in said it was the default setting, though I have the option of changing it to a 301 redirect.
