    hi
I am going to register an exact match domain. .com is taken, .net and .org are available. I plan to buy both of them, just in case in the future someone tries to compete with me.
I am going to use .org for my site. is there anything special that i can do with the .net? do i just park it? or maybe upload a blog to it? or redirect?

Don't park it - you won't make jack shit if it's not getting any traffic to start with. Get some value out of it by putting up some shitty autoblog to get a bit more extra traffic, or pump a few links to your main site. You could also set up a 301 redirect to your money site and spam the crap out the .net (at your own risk).

I've done the same thing many times when I want to protect the exact name I chose. Usually I do it when I want to use a .org or .net but don't want to leave the .com available for anyone else.

The immediate thing I always do is just redirect the one I don't plan on using at the one I want to use.

If I really want to develop something good then I'll use the .org for the informational site, blog, forum or whatever and then when that's actually generating traffic set up the .com for whatever ecommerce I think it's suited for. Link the two back and forth as in the same manner as if it were just one large site with subdomains. Then do you link building strategy for each domain individually. Build links to the .org side promoting it as more of an authority site, and then build links to the .com promoting is as an ecommerce site. This could be as simple as selling t-shirts and coffee mugs on the .com with logos for the .org domain. I'm sure you get the idea.

The point of it is slightly different if the .com was already taken, but you can still do something along that lines with a .net and .org network.

    Hope that helps.
