Need some clarification on the next step with my idea.

I designed an iPhone compartment case and I'm at the point where I either have them manufactured, (which costs a bit of money), or move on from the idea. The case can store 4 credit cards, keys, secret stash and some cash. A month ago I built a landing page with the product/idea drawn on photoshop and put a "buy $9.99" button on it. I used facebook PPC and was able to get 26 leads. I decided to move forward, I learned how to use autoCAD within the 30 day trial period haha, had the prototype 3d printed and now I'm trying to validate spending the money on having the mold made and a first batch of orders shipped.

pm me for the product page/pictures.

I went to a local smoke shop franchise, the owner wants 36 units to test in three different stores. I've got another cell phone shop in a tourist area that wants 10 units to start with. I've went to 3 stores so far. Is this a good sign? Is it a good enough sign to risk investing in?

I need to know what you guys think I should do. (thanks in advance, I know I'm being a pain asking for this). I have an ecommerce store set up and ready to go, however, I am not a guru PPC marketer and some of you guys might be able to sell these things way better than I could. Ebay, craigslist, your friends, local retailers, online retailers etc... I'm just not an expert in those areas yet.

Would I have better luck with affiliate marketing, having the product on clickbank or commission junction?

I think this case should easily retail for $19.99, I'll be using a material called "Delrin", used in backpack buckles, its almost indestructable.

The other question is whether I should have the case manufactured for iPhone 4/4s or the iPhone 5/5s, my gut says iPhone 5.

If I have these things manufactured, would any of you awesome marketers want to buy an order of them at a wholesale price? The case is ultra niche, competitively priced and should be an easy sell to the right customer.

    Thanks for reading,

    -Alec

Just start small buddy, produce only 1k cases...
I think that 1k cases are very easy to sell, you can sell them even by yourself on ebay...
If you succeed to sell 1k cases fast and with the price that you want then start investing a little more, double or triple the amount that you manufacture...
Be smart, start small, because if you manufacture a lot of cases and you can't sell them you will lose a lot of money...
    Cheers

Thanks for the input, I was actually going to try and order only 500 if I could, 1k might be the smallest order option. Is it tough in your opinion to sell an actual "buy it now' product on ebay? Will ebay generate traffic to the product on its own? I guess it all depends on the affiliates. I think as a back up, I could always list them in bulk on ebay, maybe 50 piece, 100 piece. Also, maybe you can help me with this, When I pitch to retailers, what is a good wholesale price per unit for a product that would retail for 19.99? I've heard %50 on the retail price, perhaps I should ask for 25%? Less?

    Thanks again
