    Hello,

I'm currently with a shared hosting provider and heard to improve my SEO i need a dedicated IP, as other users under the same IP as me could affect my SEO status with blackhat methods etc...

If i buy a dedicated IP for my website from my hosting provider now, will it affect my websites SEO or search ranking status as the IP has changed?

Or should i leave it as it is now to keep my current credibility and rankings within the search engines?

    Many thanks!

I have changed my hosting about 2 months ago (that means I went from 1 IP to another since I use VPS to host my websites) and I see no significant change in rankings (only better rankings due to faster loading of the websites).

I believe you won't have any trouble from an SEO perspective.

Dedicated IP has zero effect on your rankings but dedicated hosting does if you're on a slow shared hosting.

Dedicated IP doesn't have any effect, but the problem is with bad neighborhoods the IP may have a negative effect.

If your site is currently on an IP with 2000 porn and malware sites then yes it'll be demoted.

So in essence yes, changing to a clean dedicated IP may help you if you're currently on a bad neighborhood, but that's not a boost, it's just a reversal of a penalty of sorts.

There's no significant change to SEO. it's even make your blog load faster and this is a sign to G that you're upgrading your blog for your readers.

Ips used to have bigger role but not these days.
Like someone mentioned, if you stick your site under the same ip with lots of porn sites and/or malware/hacked sites or sites search engines don't like, YOU WILL get penalized.

One thing that still work tho, where your ip is from (country) !
