Hey everyone,

I recently got hold of several AWS accounts with each of them having $5000 in credits for 2 years.

Looking to have suggestions to make the best use of them.

So far I have thought about the following:

- Selling accounts for around 20% of the credit size
- Mining ETH or XRP on high-end configuration instances
- Selling RDPs to make a good monthly income

Would love to have some more unique ideas from the members here.

• crypto mining gets usually more profitable with less competition. so, if you mine smaller or newer cryptos, you are going to get more yield for the same software power. but on the other hand, smaller altcoins might be a scam or might fail so you need to do a lot of research. running a masternode or validator is another good hardware-heavy option but you need to own a lot of that cryptocurrency and it's quite high tech.
• data mining or scraping i only suggested in case he would have use for some data, some information about a specific market or industry... that needs a lot of power. but it's only a business if you need it for some particular purpose.
• OHLC data are open-high-low-close data of price actions. It's open price of the candle, highest price of the candle etc... You can collect them for free from APIs of cryptocurrency exchanges, but nobody does it because you need to maintain the servers and keep checking the collection didn't miss any data. You can get data usually for down to 1-minute or 5-minute candles. Traders who build trading bots needs historical data to backtest their strategies and so the data is always very expensive, always have been. This is a price for 1 minute OHLC from finex over the past 2 years (to date): - But I don't know what the demand is in this. I was never in this line of business, I only considered it.

Lets say you want to do cpu mining on AWS.
c6i.24xlarge is $4.08 per hour so $3k per month. Lets say you can run two c6i.24xlarge instances (total of 192 shared cores) for a month with your 5k credit.
If you could sell your AWS account for only $500 per 5k credits you could get 3 dedicated servers from hetzner (epyc 7502P) with 192 dedicated cores. Probably you would get twice (or more) CPU mining power compared to aws.
If you would sell aws accounts for $1k per 5k credits you could get 3-5 times more CPU mining power from hetzner compared to AWS.

Selling RDPs dont make any sense. t4g.small is 12 usd monthly or something like that. You can easily get similar linux vps for less than $5 month from reputable provider + aws bandwidth pricing is really a joke. One happy scraper on $50 instance could burn quarter of your 5k credits in a month by using shitload of bandwidth.

Overall AWS is very expensive, its not worth to run anything on AWS unlessunless you really need AWS services so best thing you can do with your AWS accounts is sell sell sell.
