I have a fitness blog that's sitting on page 2 for the main keyword.

I have done blog comments, infographic guestposting, pressreleases, web 2.0s and social bookmarks.

I want to build more diversified backlinks. Any ideas?

Im looking for a techniques that a bit different from the normal methods i mentioned above.

You may try these strategy I've tried so
    1) Q&A Mediums
    2) Guest Posting
    3) Put Links in the Comments of Related Blog Articles
    4) Broken Link Building
    5) Submit To Blogging Communities
    6) Help A Reporter Out
    7) Link Reclamation

By themselves, each of these methods is only likely to get you a regular amount of traffic.

Also, get image links. Images are huge in the Fitness world. Add images to Flickr and any other free photo sites and require attribution back to your site for using it.

Things change so much. I used to use sxc.hu all the time, but it looks like they got bought up and removed my attribution requirements. Basically, start searching for free stock photo sites and look at some of the available images. Find photos that have attribution requirements that were clearly specified by the photographer and you sign up for that site.

I've never tried Wikimedia Commons, but that one might be possible. Another one I used to use for this was freedigitalphotos.net, but it looks like they also got strict about the attribution going to their site specifically. You can also setup your own site. It's a bit more effort, but at least you can control the outcome.

Actually, just brainstorming now... but if you setup your own site, you could then use your images from that site (and a mix of others just to keep things looking natural) and give attribution back to your own site.

Good information, what do you mean by attribution requirements? Sorry, I'm having a hard time grasping the concept.

So, when you want to find an image for your blog post, but you don't have licensed stock photos, you start searching for free stock photos. Lots of those free sites require "attribution" or credit. So, you can use their image, but you have to give a link back to them to show where you got the image from.

A lot of free photo sites just require a link back to the photo site itself (which isn't what we're looking for here), but some allow the photographer to state how they want the photo attributed, or you can put the attribution requirements in the description. So, you take a photo, upload it to the site and say "anyone can use this photo as long as they give credit the following way: Jane Doe/MyAwesomeWebsite.com". Hopefully that makes sense :)

Oh that makes a lot more sense now, thank you for clarifying. That's a really good idea!

Social shares and profiles are a must in that niche. I'd also say a good Wiki page would benefit ;)

Do you have suggestions for profiles I could build that are related to the fitness niche? I just don't want to build random profiles just to gain backinks.

This kind of information changes so rapidly in niches like Fitness that knowing the heavyweights at any given moment is pretty tough. Your best bet is googling something like:

    Code:
    fitness inurl:profile
...and seeing which sites come up. Check the profiles, do they allow links? Do the sites have good TF? If yes, then build a profile.

    Hii Julie85
If u want to make some good high authority backlinks then u have to use ahrefs.com paid version they also give 14-day trail.
what u have to do is that first find your competitor through google search.
then track their longtail keywords and quality backlinks by using ahrefs.com filter options.

if it's helpful then give thumbs up

Depending on what kind of fitness site you have (a "personal journey" fitness site or more general informational site) you might want to try creating (ordering) infographics and pushing them on social media with a link back to your site. This might be better for traffic, though, not necessarily backlinks. Good luck regardless. Like others said, images are big in the fitness world.
