Can someone share home improvement site ideas? I have a couple of sites that are generating a few leads, but I have a client who just paid me almost $900 for a siding lead that converted into a sale and I want more of these. I'm looking for tips on landing pages, traffic tips, CTA, etc. Any serious advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

I suggest you to hire a professional, whitehat SEO firm or a local seo company. Use SEO as your long term strategy, but the sooner you get started with this, the sooner those leads will come flooding in. I wish you the best :)

This is my 9-5 job. Self employed and in the trades. What sites do you currently have up? For storm damage? Remodelers?Exterior work only? How did you capture that first lead? I can better help you if you fill me in a little on what you have done up to this point. I can answer a lot of questions you might have or at least tell you what has worked for me.

Thanks for the offer but I'm not looking for someone to do seo for me. I can handle that part. I should've taken more care and asked better questions in my description. I wanted to know if a simple one page lead capture page was the way to go, or if a full blown, "official" website would be better. I generated the lead in question by just throwing up a one page website with a lead capture form and phone number. Wanted to see if anyone had better ideas, better CTA's etc.

I know nothing about SEO I was asking those questions to save us some time. What works for me (and most guys in my industry) is a more complete website. As far as capturing leads I have a full page dedicated to gathering as much information from a potential customer as possible as well as a short form on my home page.

Most of the lead capture websites are 1 page only, highly converted. Now if you go for a full site, then you need to give them something in return like a free download and in the same the content should be 'king'. I'll go for a single page with a catchy headline.

Please forgive me. I copied and pasted the same thing I sent to someone else in a PM when they offered do seo for me. I'm getting clumsy in my old age.

I want to send everyone from facebook or adwords to a landing type page and getting the potential client to raise their hand and say, "I'd like an estimate". So far I've thrown up a couple of simple, one page websites with a phone number and a lead capture form. I've been getting a sporadic leads. Some being really good and some just kicking tires.

    Thanks again for the help.

Any suggestions for a "catchy headline" or download related to home improvement?

how about something along the lines of

5 ways to go green and improve your homes value.

    or

Increase your homes value even in a downturn market.

    or

Add value to your home and lower utility bills with new windows.

These are just some of the headlines we used for a friend of mine who is a contractor, we found
that beings the whole tree hugging, go green thing is blasted so much now days that it was a
good way to draw attention to his services, along with getting people look at the ad copies
    by mentioning utility bills.

When we spoke to 10 different homeowners to get ideas of what was most important to them, the order was

    Utility bill savings
    Home's value

I would suggest tying those to themes together as right now in the current market this has played out very well for my buddy.
Hope some of this helps, I'll be happy to share our marketing stradegy with you to try yourself.
