On my site, my Home page is a Static page and my next page is my "post's page", my home page only has like 420 words on it.

and so far i only have 1 post on the next page about 400 words, i am going to add more content in the morning but do i just keep posting on this second "post page" or do i need to be adding content to the home page to take full advantage of the EMD without a slug?

i ask because in the wordpress twenty ten them i dont think i can post to a static home page. so really i just want to know should i leave the home page short and sweet and continue to add content to the post page?

hope that makes some kinda sense

What i like to do is make my homepage static with my main keywords like for example my EMD. Then i start posting posts on various related topics like long tail keywords. Each post will have a few keywords I want to rank for. I will also put them in different categories that make sense to the reader as well.

Home page's should have 500-900 words; 700 is about right.

Post-pages should be 500-700 words, correlate to (and be optimised for - but not over-optimised for) a long-tail relavant to the home-page.

Build post-pages over time, consistently. You don't need to keep updating current pages, except the home-page, and they don't have to be big updates.
