I came across this banner and thought it was well designed, here is why. The advertiser doesn't ask you to visit their website or buy their product, they simply ask you to watch their youtube video. Youtube is an authoritative website so people will naturally trust it. Anyone that buys Viagra will now wonder if what they are buying is real or counterfeit. I naturally visited the youtube channel, which is a mini documentary about fake viagra, bla bla bla. The takeaway here is that if you want to engage someone with your affiliate, cpa, etc banner, use an authoritative source for where you want to redirect the user. For example, if the banner told me to "click here to go to viagra.com or any other website, I would of disregarded the banner, but because it said "youtube" i was interested to see what the video was all about. Other highly authoriative websites include facebook, twitter. I'm sure you can come up with many. Also check the alexa top 500 for ideas. Now you have your lesson for today. Don't forget to thank me If you want to watch the viagra videos you can go to this url: Code: http://www.youtube.com/viagra#p/c/2/aWuOgjOyL38 It seems to be a big campaign, they also have material on their website, so I wouldn't be surprised if you seen a tv commercial on this message also.
