I heard Internetbs.net was a secure place to host domains. However US authorities could easily subpoena ICANN for your personal details. Is this true?

Of course,if you're doing something illegal they will give out the details.

Private registration is more to protect you against identity fraud, not against governamental forces. That's why I never buy PV reg,it's useless.

Yea that's what I heard. How would you do that though? I guess if your using someone like Internetbs.net you would be secure. Because I don't think they turn your credit card details over to ICANN or they might. Maybe only registrar information is stored with ICANN.

Why not register them using VCCs on fake details?

Go to Walgreens or office depot and get prepaid visa card, the ones with the $25-$500 value. Then pay for the domain and hosting with that, you can use any name you want to and any address that is in the zip code you registered it with, which doesn't need to be the same one your living in.
