    HI,

I am a domain buyer, i bid many domain that are true in quality then i either use it for my network or sell it on BST.
But Today I was bidding for those HIGH PR domain that are Valid PR 4-5, with super decent DA/PA/TF/Moz

Those links are great... they come with Wikipedia links... multiple links of those, ehows,cnn.net and even microsoft..
    Links profile : http://i.imgur.com/H4f0Mb0.jpg
    Domain age around 6 - 12

The thing is.. when i plug in to waybackmachine... those are used as PBN before... (They are still indexed if you do site:domain.com)
I don't know why would anyone own such metric give up such a good domain.
Nevertheless i bidding on the domain with Mid - High $XXX ...

But as i keep finding... i notice more of them had been like this!
Like out of 10 quality domain 6 will be PBN before!

Make me wonder if i should go for it..
    Anyone got insight?

I certainly wouldn't bid $xxx for a domain like that. Now if the domain was used as private blog network then maybe its worth, but if it has hundreds of pages of spun content and each page with outbound links i wouldn't pick it up even for registration price.

I wonder the same but people die, move on to bigger and better things, get sick of it all etc

also, deindexing isnt the only smack google has in its arsenal, there may have been some other penalty

if it was previously used in pbn , then there are only two reasons to drop it.
    1. owner died.
    2. pbn got fucked up.

If its indexed then you can still go ahead. I have found out that most of the times when the domain used to be a PBN before, it turned out to be a deindexed domain.

However you may want to skip it if the niche is from spammy areas like payday etc.

I wouldn`t buy. These are mostly domains which were some time ago money sites. If those got tanked they put those as PBN. I´ve seen many domains being used this way.

    Cheers

I won't invest $xxx on the domains which are already used as pbn. Because, you can get single hand used discontinued corporate domains or blogs for the same price with huge PA, DA, etc..

The backlinks seem solid so either the previous owner just forgot to renew (unlikely) or his money site got hit/penalised and he panicked and removed all of his PBN links and let them go thinking they were toxic. It might be that this domain had nothing to do with the drop and so is perfectly fine to use.

So here's what I'd do - first of all I wouldn't pay as much for this as for an equivalent domain that hasn't been a part of a PBN before. You have to factor in the risk that this domain will never hold any true value in terms of SEO but it shouldn't stop you bidding on it up to a certain limit (a limit you have to decide upon).

Secondly, I'd put some content on the domain (maybe 4 or 5 unique articles) without any links to your money site(s) and then leave it for a few weeks/months. If this new content is getting indexed then you can add your links and it should all be good. If you notice an immediate drop in the rankings for your money sites then, assuming you haven't done any other link building, you can identify this domain as the cause and remove the links.

Everyday I find many high quality domains with similar metrics as you mentioned that haven't been used in a PBN since their creation, so I wouldn't purchase domains that have been used as PBN sites in the past when there are better ones available. If the PBN owners let those domains go, then there is something wrong with them. That's the risk you take when you buy pre-owned domains.

That said, Godaddy auctions is not even the best place to buy high quality expired domains. There's way too much spam there. Use Name Jet or Snap Names. Those are where the really good domains nest.

I would maybe bid for a domain that was used by 1 person for ranking his own website/s.

I would never bid if it was used as public blog network with hundreds of pages and outbound links.
