I want to start my own affiliate program. Which options do I have?
I'd start by determining what you want to do, and have a passion for. It has to be of interest to you or it'll never get you where you want to go.
AR is right, you should start a program that you have some sort of passion and belief about, otherwise it will become more "work" than you thought it would be.
Also, you should check around and see what other affiliate programs are doing:
what kind of tier structure
what kind of payout rates
what are required from their affiliates
do they offer any affiliate support
do they offer marketing strategies for their affiliates
is it a service, a product, or a system
Then apply your likes to your chosen path of passion and structure it as such.
Once you do this, you'll be ready to get into the more hands-on stuff like choosing a domain name and determining which type of script or software you will run it from. You can imagine, if your heart isn't behind this stuff, it will become too tedious and turn off from seeing it grow.
get a merchant processor as an online resaler and you can be just like plimus
