I definitely wouldn't start a TGP site at this time. All the surfers are going to tubes and it would be pretty difficult to build up a TGP now, especially if you are new to trading traffic.
Also TGPs don't have the most productive traffic because you're still giving the surfer a large amount of free content. Basically the less content you provide, the higher your conversions will be.
Adult traffic is basically worthless now unless you have LARGE amounts of it or you're working in an obscure niche.

I'm in adult since 2007 and I would not suggest you to try it, porn is everywhere for free and no one buys it anymore. Also the competition of huge tube sites and torrents is just too big.

You see, the TGP model worked 10 years ago. But with the rise of tube sites and webcam platforms, it's very hard to convert with TGP websites especially circle jerk-type of TGPs.
You see, adult webmasters have been educating their website visitors to demand full-size videos.
That's just the way the game is right now and if you're just going to show teaser pictures, that's not going to cut it.
You probably would have to drum up huge amount of traffic to convert a very tiny fraction of that.
Your return of investment might be lousy.
If I were you and I'm thinking of going into the online adult industry, I would focus on webcams, live cam shows and other forms of live entertainment.
The good news is that there are all sorts of white label solutions you can try.
Also, one of the most common ways to promote cam-based adult websites is Tumblr.com.
You might want to start investigating there.

I've been working in adult for 10 plus years mostly in live cams but I've started my own tube sites and ran a bunch of blogs as well. It's not easy...especially not now. TGPs are definitely obsolete and even tubes are too saturated to get into at this point unless you have some sort of gimmick that no one else is doing.

Agree with Snrpro. You better have some different that nobody else is doing, otherwise you will not get far. While there is still plenty to be made in adult, there is just a lot of competition.
Think outside the box. Years ago you could put just about anything up and it would convert.
