So.. i want to set up a store to sell stuff on line.

I rather not go into what I am selling yet.. I imagine there are plugins and themes that will make this easy?

    recommend one for me?

I have an e-commerce store on Wordpress using a theme from Studiopress
and I use Shopp as my shopping cart. I tried to post links to both, but I am a newbie and can't.

I am extremely happy with both. Hope that helps.

I have used wordpress sites but have implemented the actual ecommerce part of the site using joomla and virtuemart, have you thought of trying that?

I have never run an estore before. A friend of a friend has a garage filled with a particular type of product that his degenerate son tried selling on line before he blew all the $ on cocaine and went to prison.

I am looking for something simple to set up and use just to see if I can bleed off what stock they guy has. If I make $ I'll buy more from the suppliers list that comes with the stock. If I flop.. I flop.

I will consider anything that is easy to setup and use. I don't want to stack learning Joomla on to this project.

Yeah thats understandable in that case using a wordpress ready ecommerce theme will be your best option, I would only really recommend joomla for larger sites but it sounds like inititially you won't need that.

I use ShopperPress by PremiumPress. Works well for the job, it's a theme but has all the functionality inbuild. Works well with PayPal, but you can set it up for a whole bunch of different payment gateways. I set one up for my mate who only used bank deposit, so the checkout just linked to his bank details and the order gets saved for reference. There is a discount code released 20 hours ago for this month.
'AUGPROMO' (not an affiliate coupon) gives you 30% off on any PremiumPress themes.

    Plain Link PremiumPress:
    Code:
    http://www.premiumpress.com/
    Plain Link ShopperPress:
    Code:
    http://shopperpress.com/
    Affiliate Link ShopperPress:
    Code:
    https://secure.avangate.com/order/cart.php?PRODS=2929632&QTY=1&AFFILIATE=20382
PS. There are nulled versions shared on BHW.
