I think you need to do a little more reading before starting a SEO company.

Not really. You probably know more than I, but I'm probably a better salesman than you.
I outsource the SEO work anyways, I'm looking to build my ranks on my actual site now, by acquiring home page links. I have a great method to get homepage links from websites with great metrics, I just don't know which niche SEO falls in to for optimal category appropriate backlinks. Marketing websites I guess? Not sure.

Looking at the backlink profile of a competitor in my city, he has links from many clients websites. Landscaping sites, construction sites, etc.
More relevant websites should bring better results, no?

Your niche is SEO? You should probably try to get backlinks from blogs in the SEO niche. Just a thought :pat:

What's the next closest thing? Landing a homepage link from someone who knows so much about SEO won't be the easiest task.

If you outsource your clients work surely you could hire them for your own site.

LOL. I just can't...

LOL.

LOL.

LOL.

Edit: might want to just http://www.serplogic.com/products/logic-outreach....

Also...there is so much free content and resources out there these days that 90%+ of your potential customers are going to know more about SEO than you. That will not have a favorable outcome.

You say you are a good salesman, but that can't be true. A good salesman knows his product inside and out. Imagine someone that has been reading up and researching a particular model of car....they go in and start asking questions....and the salesman doesn't know a thing. The customer knows more. Are they going to buy form that dealer? No. They will go to the next one.

Business/marketing sites.

This is why I'm getting out of the client SEO game, though, because of you unless you sell my SEO service to clients, you don't have to take on any hassle just grab some commission and move onto the next one. I'm a crap salesperson but have insane results to back up what I can do, I just suck at selling it to people.

Find your niche related sites on internet and try to get backlinks from them.

For an 'SEO company' you are asking too many questions about SEO. Are you sure you're not lost in space?
