We all know how to rank the main keywords, but what if you have hundreds or thousands of longtail keywords you want to increase the ranking for?

Currently I have hundreds of longtail keywords that is ranking pretty well in Google in page 1 and page 2. Is there a particular way to increase the rankings of longtail keywords? I cannot do particular link building per long tail keyword as I do have 20 potential longtail keywords every day and it would be a costly operation.

    Hope someone can suggest me!

    Thanks

I am trying to rank a site based on four words. All four words are even in the domain, but I rank page 1 in the SERPs only on the last three words. When I add the first keyword to the search I completely disappear. Very frustrating! Any help would be appreciated.

Lol I'm having the same problem as Metalstar. Funny how one word can make such a difference. My site is just now hitting one month old though so I'm chalkin it up to that.

Keep building backlinks via profile links, article directories, bookmarks, directory submissions. Whatever method blackhat or whitehat, it needs to be done to keep moving up the rankings. Just don't spam when your doing it.

I have done all of the above. I am just hoping this will change since my site is also only a month or so old. Maybe Google is making it harder to rank for key phrases 4+ long if your site is new, but letting you rank for up to 3 right away.

ok guys, here a quick update. I've noticed that all my longtail keywords are moving up step by step in the ranking since my 'main' website is getting more backlinks.

I assume the more 'authority' my main website gets, the better my main keywords and longtail keywords will rank in the serps.
