I am quite certain your not the first one to have come up with the exact same plan(actually not even the first 20,000th), but that does not mean that you cannot succeed. When you say a blog like johnchow .com, I'd say sure, but are you looking at the same success? to really achieve the latter you need to find the answer to the simple question, n keep it to yourself (for good reason)!

What would be your competitive edge?

    Cheers!!

if you feel comfortable in doing so, i would suggest that you do so.

Do not worry that there can be many others doing so, just keep doing what you like to do, and you'll surprised to find a group of loyal visitors who are impressed by what you are sharing and how you are doing up the blog.

Con side is definitely the competitiveness between those who made it or trying it to make it. Be persistent in what you are doing and you will make it for sure.

I have been blogging on how to make money online - this is a very normal niche online but yet I am still making some money out of it. Just need to keep doing what you are doing and you will be surprised with the result!

    All the best!

Agree what will be your competitive edge ? As you see you must stand out no matter what leave your own little mark . Make something different and add your own spin to it .

Yes a blog like that would be successful with the right spin to it . What will your spin be ? Can not wait to see !

    Kind regards,
    Valwardon

Well if you really want to do so, than you must have an unique selling point to make yourself really special.

Going into the niche of teaching people how to make money is the hardest you could ever imagine. Like selling products, if you can't differentiate yourself with the 10,000 idiots teaching people how to make money, it's best to keep yourself under your feet at times.

How about giving your self a fake disadvantage? For example, ex convict.

andre09= WOW thats harsh, maybe a little risky, cause people might be afraid of some shit going illegal; but definitely this is a good approach.

johnchow and shoemoney are now nothing but frauds...

johnchow posts pictures of food he eats at restaurants and shoemoney takes pictures of him wearing free t-shirts that people sent in.

what goes these blogs popular was they would tell people how to do online marketing and how to go about making money online. now that they are banking they rarely do this anymore and are just about monetizing their blogs, both of which have become jokes IMO.

NOW nothing? The number 3 and number 4 sites for Make Money Online are free blooger blogs by white hat SEO guys. Chow and Shoe and Yaro and ALL those social bloggers are fucking criminals. Check out Blogger Unleashed and listen to former blackhatter Vic Franqui bitch slap them.

Funny that you mention Yaro. When I first looked into making money online, his was the first site I found that really impressed me. I thought he was a genius and he gave me what I feel now was a false hope. However, he did get me thinking, and if it wasn't for him sucking so bad, I wouldn't have eventually found this place, which is awesome. I've been coming here for a good while now, and I'm really glad I found the place because it gives me ideas I actually can and do use. So, I guess I should thank Yaro for that at least!

Yeah you could do better creating something more impressive than John Chow, and don't let people tell you that you cannot make money in that niche because although youd make a whole lot more money in another niche with less competition, if you can make your site stand out from the rest you stand to make some money from it, just don't be talking about what you had for tea last night, that's gay.

Actually if I as going to do this then I would do something like JohnCow.com did where he made a spoof of Chow. He sold it after about a year for a tidy sum of cash. Could not do that one exactly but something similar may work. Then buy a sponsored post on somewhere like Chow and you may be set.

I do remember reading a blogs post somewhere on something like this. I can't remember exactly where since its been months, but it goes like this. Build your guru blog. Then build 30-40 fan blogs where those identities worship the guru blogger. Buy your sponsored posts on the other guru blogs like Chow, Problogger, Shoemoney, etc.. and it should grow. Kind of like a fake till you make it thing.

    Dear leipeic,

you said you are no native speaker, so my advise is to transfer your business plan to your own country.

    Why?
-you will never be that succesful on a foreign market as in your own "well known" one
-the difficulty of the foreign language, it needs more time to care about all issues comming up
-intercultural barriers, scripts, misinterpretations are just a few problems which will affect your business on a foreign market

    Solution:
-use the home advantage of your local market!

think about a two strategies, which will meet your demands,
one called global strategy, which affects your whole business
and the other one called daily strategy (quite explaining itself)

With your own skills and competences you will reach a lot more!

    Best regards!

Hit Thanks if you like my posts ;)

good post pizza, i was thinking about it, there is no sites like that in my country (small eastern country in europe), but i dont think i will be able to earn much here....

The market is pretty small and there are only a few blogs that have more than 100k visitors/month. People dont even have PayPal here :p so it'd be hard for them to participate in making money.
