I'm a utopian...

We need a leisure technological society.
Everyone should be able to have the basic STUFF of life provided.
Why should anyone have to loose their house because they got sick? Or have to choose between medicine and food?

Most people don't enjoy the time and stress of work.
What we all really enjoy, is what work is supposed to bring us. Such as a house, food, utilities, education, transportation, healthcare, security, elderly care, sex - you know, "Life" STUFF.

Work (related) stress is an unhealthy and deadly disease - most people would be happier if they didn't have to work for at least the basic STUFF. This would lead to better relationships, families, and communities. Wage slavery kills or destroys the lives of people s-l-o-w-l-y over about 30-50 years, so no one will hear them scream...industrial slow death, mass murder that I guess is hard to see if you're to busy busting your butt just to make rent.

If people had to work less, they would have more time and less stress. Less stress is ALWAY a good thing. Instead of doing what what they NEED to do (to survive) they could do more of what they WANT to do (to really be happy). If you absolutely wanted more STUFF than the basics, you could work for it, but you wouldn't have the fear of loosing the very basics. Most people would be happy to give up their job...if they could afford to.

Imagine what you could do if you had total freedom from a JOB, instead of the freedom to work 2 or more jobs just to survive. I suppose a few people might do bad things if not trapped by their job, but the world would be much better and happier if most of us were not consumed by a job.

Everyone should be happy.

That's why I want MORE Unemployment for all.

But I am also a realist...
This is a CRAPitalist world.
So Black Hatters UNITE and work towards that total freedom FROM work!

(this is one of my rants from another board, thought a few folks here might enjoy -sorry if my typin sucks)

To build a world without money they need a lot of money.

I personally prefer the fact that most people are trapped in buildings for most of the day. It keeps them far away from me while I am out enjoying the world.

Who's going to grow my food? And run the power plants? And BUILD the power plants? Engineering is a right pain in the butt, and completely necessary. And what else would all the grinds in the world do? What about all those part-autistic math geniuses? Numbers mean more to them than people, lesiure, vacations, sex, nature, or anything. Are you going to be like Pol Pot and throw everyone that's wearing glassses out into the countryside to enjoy your idea of utopia? Some folks think utopia is living in a basement with no light and only eating soda and candy bars and getting scurvy and coding every waking hour of their lives. Don't hear too much about that lifestyle in your post. Not everyone hates work. I'm a coder and I love it. And I've been out of the basement for days now :D) I know I'm lucky. I know that most people aren't mind workers or working at what they like. Everyone else should certainly get as much leisure as they can, and the rest of us should fight like animals to help them get it. When I'm on an interesting project working for weeks straight, every single waking hour is a complete joy. I grow some of my own food and I love that too. I keep chickens and I suppose I could eat them but I choose not to. Cow farmers in my area love their cows. Up at 4 am to milk and feed is a way of life that they enjoy. If they lose their farms and have to go somewhere without all that endless labor they aren't as happy. Some of the ones that get foreclosed on are old enough for social security, can live in some comfy little apt on their monthlies. But they're still miserable. When you keep animals just being with them, taking care of them, is a meditation and provides a stillness and peace others really can't understand. When I'm mucking out my coop and hauling poop and straw and washing out buckets etc it helps me put coding issues aside so when I go back to the keyboard I'm fresh as a daisy. I was an engineering major and now I'm a coder. It's a grinding, soul-crushing, impossible slog sometimes. But after days, weeks, months of work there's a zone you get into where everything is crystal clear, your project is laid out like a big glowing circling galaxy around you and all you have to do is pick and choose and gather the individual systems down into your project and fit them with the new galaxy you're building. It's partially hallucinations from the lack of sleep, but what the hell. I like it And anyway, who's going to build all those huge buildings and flying ships on the venus project page?

Human beings were not created to work. Whoever our creator is I'm sure did not expect humans to be working people who slave for others.

We have one purpose only... hunt for food and survive

However, the human race got way too over populated over time which created power among groups which in turn created slavery and jobs.

The original purpose and way of life for us humans is long gone. For one reason only, Over-reproduction!

Then why did our 'creators' allow diseases, cancers, people dying, feelings, food (being hungry), sex and all the million other things I could say?

Well those are things that are just part of being human and living..

Animals have these same things happen to them as well.

This has nothing to do really with power and over population. All I'm saying is that we were originally created to live like all other animals do today. But we evolved to something much different.

Life is pain. Anyone who says different is selling something.

i honestly believe that because of the advancment of science our race will finnally let go of religion and move forward(other then the select few people). religion causes war and hate. religion has done nothing good for our race. once we get past it and move on maybe we could someday have a utopia.

i dont wanna start a flame or anything so i aint saying there any religions are wrong or right... im just sayin my views

I'm actually striving for getting fired and receiving unemployment right now. I easily make double what I get paid at my day job, from my BH hustle. If I got unemployment, that would free up 40+ hours a week for me. I KNOW my IM business would skyrocket. Now if my boss would fire me already..... I call in sick more than ever, come in late, leave early, take long lunches, slack off while I am here, hang up on customers, and spread negativity. Am I missing something? Or do I just need to scale this up?

I just disagree. Not that theres a right and wrong but I just disagree.

Say, a beaver just feels like 'not working' anymore, it's probably going to starve to death (because it won't hunt for food) and it will die in nature any million different ways (because it doesn't build & maintain its home).

How different is that from human nature? Yes, we've 'evolved' into a much more complex being but I gaurantee a person who works (just like most animals do) will have a much better life then the one who refuses to work.

I bet a person with a job, shelter, food will live longer than a homeless person.

Well if you consider work to be hunting for food then yeah you are right. Humans and animals have to work to survive in that sense...

But I am talking about the power and work that us humans live today. Humans get food in much different ways now. Mostly by slaving and working long hours. Which all I'm saying is that this not what our creator had originally intended. The over-population simply created that.

Animals in the wild are more like "self-employed" workers if you may.. They work for themselves and get what they need to live. Which is what humans once were like in the beginning.

Maybe you will get what I'm trying to say..?

Well said!

In my HUMBLE opinion, religion is meant to keep our morality in the PAST. That is why if you read any religious materials, they always strike fear in humans by saying if you murder, rape or do any sinful acts, you will be punished by your creator.

I believe religion, in the past, was used to maintain justice and a safer place to live in.

Not just that, it's used to give individuals "faith" in something. Every one wants to put faith or believe in something, don't we?

But in our present times now we already have official government law to protect us. So religion doesn't serve much purpose as it used to. Unless people still wants them for inner-spirituality.

I apologize if I offend any one who loves their religion. This is just my HUMBLE opinion

That is why if you think about it... our laws are indirectly related to religion. But instead of being "punished by your creator", you will be sentenced to death or spend years in jail.

Everything can be automated.

People right now see that as a problem, because then they couldn't WORK to bring in MONEY. But if everything was automated AND money was eliminated, life would be wonderful. People are free to fulfill their dreams. Helping people, not just yourself would become #1 for all.

It's not that simple, and won't happen in our lifetime, but maybe a thousand years down the road. Maybe.
