    Hi guys

I used a trademarked slogan in my website. like you know how Mcdonald's slogan is "I am loving it" or Ross says "Dress for Less"?

I had one of those slogans in my website and the person who owns the trademark emailed me, asking me to remove it. I didn't remove it because I kind of forgot.
today the guy emailed me again, saying since it's not been removed he has reported my site to google for copyright infringement and they will deindex it. is this true? I know google will deindex sites selling copyrighted music and software. but will they also deindex a site for using a trademarked slogan? I have worked so hard on this site and I will be screwed if they do. what should I do?
PS I did already removed the slogan.

    You should've removed the slogan.

How hard did you work if you copied someone else's slogan?

I believe google will do a manual review. If you've removed the slogan, you should be fine.

    On another note.

How do you know for sure that the person that emailed you was legitimately a company representative and not just a competitor trying to get to you?

I didnt "copy" it. I came up with the slogan on my own and it turns out that it's trademarked.
I don't believe it's a competitor because the slogan is worthless and a competitor wouldn't care about a stupid slogan. if it was a competitor, they would neg seo me or something.
fuck, I didnt want to get google's attention. will they also check my backlinks?

    (If it's a competitor)
It's not about the slogan. If it's a (shady) competitor, they'll want to bring you down anyway they can. The slogan was just one of their ways to get in a throw a jab at you. We hear a lot of stories about competitors posing as companies, even going as far as sending fake Cease and Desist letters.

I can't really comment on what google will or won't do because I haven't gone through the process with them.

if they do, it's going to be a temporary block and you'll have the chance to dispute, a successful dispute results in you getting not one, not two, but THREE links directly from a pr 8 page that google maintains and has enormous authority and can never be called into question by google, so count your lucky stars, those links are worth the downtime, their typical response time on that is under 6 hours each way, within 6 hrs of him placing the request, your site gets deindexed, within 6hrs of you contesting, your site gets reindexed with sexy sexy new links from chillingeffects

Yes, your site can be removed from G's index if the rightful owner of that slogan complains.

    Stop using others work.
