Interesting case study
Have you tried drag & drop oriented editors like Doodly?
Yes. Doodly and videoscribe are both very good softwares for a youtube videos. Just make sure you actually trying and not just drawing 30s One object.. :) YouTube will monetize such things channels without Any issues.

Don't do stock footage they say...
Don't do text-to-speech videos they say...
Don't do this and this...

ENOUGH!

Each time I hear someone telling me it's not possible or not worth it to try - it's only Their OPINION. If You failed for any reason - don't say it's impossible.
Many people saying it's saturated, it's not worth it, it's not working, etc.( for any business model like eBay dropshipping, Shopify, Amazon etc)

Today I will share details of my Youtube channel which I have been working with VIDNAMI ( no longer available) and text to speech software.

Things worth mentioning:
1. 151 videos Uploaded each 2-8 minutes long.
2. it took me 2 weeks full-time job doing it.
3. Made it purely for testing purposes, just to see details of the niche I am going to make decent videos.
4. Never seen any of my videos - totally trusted software I've been using.
5. Will not reveal channel name or niche.

If you are going to ask me does it worth doing the same? - it's up to You. I'm repeating myself, done it for testing purposes, but the results shocked me.

My start was slow. Didn't got any traffic or impressions. but after 2-3 months I started getting views.
The image you are seeing now below is right after 8 months of the channel start.
Have not tried to make it good.
didn't check any scenes software made it.
didn't check anything or responded to comments, I was just doing it.

Now monthly income $200-$300 but I am wondering if this could go to 80k views a month - this might go to 1M too, if I would do proper work, select scenes, and make decent intros...

Not doing it, because it's risky and I don't see the future of this kind of video making. It's better to make with CANVA or simply video with adobe premier.

Done this to collect info such as:
  • Impressions
  • CTR
  • RPM
  • Search term people are finding these videos.

The image below you can see:

Impression and Youtube recommending content percentage. (1 MONTH)
From views and unique viewers you can understand I have returning viewers also.

YOU WILL NEVER KNOW IF YOU DON'T TRY

So don't listen to anyone telling things are not working and try do things by yourself. if you fail after 3-10 videos and assume it's not working - don't comment, share this information BECAUSE IT'S NOT WORKING FOR YOU. youtube works and will work in the future, just find a niche and start your job.

IMAGINE HOW MANY VIEWS I WOULD GET WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF DECENT QUALITY VIDEOS IF THIS NICHE ARE SO GOOD?
Good Job man....now you have found your toy and cash cow...milk it however you like sir
More grace my friend.

Thanks for sharing your experiment op
No problem. Will update You after New year with the same channel - THAT WILL DO NOTHING MORE :) From impression graph I see, that this channel is still growing, nor nothing is doing in this channel.

Would you recommend TTS channel with stock footage versus voice over with stock footage?

Any examples of these TTS channels (not your channel)

How about Canva, is it good for making videos?
Canva is pretty decent with it's animation and effects, but make sure your video also included moving objects and not just speaking about 1 slide for 30 seconds, youtube DO NOT likes it.

I would recommend voice-over with stock footage + CANVA or major edits.. screenshots, etc.

here is few samples of what other people are doing with TTS:

Wow, I wonder how much money are they making. I'm looking to build more passive income streams and this looks like a great one - maybe just make one upload per day and it can generate $200-300 per month.

Any tips on selecting a good niche?

Nice method! Why did you stop? Once you started getting views and earnings you could have made more videos, imagine the earnings if you had 500 videos.

they make how much they need to make. It's satisfying to see other results and wonder how much they earn, but it no how impacts your results.

THIS IS NOT A PASSIVE INCOME STREAM. It's risky and made for testing purposes. You can do the same, but don't put every working hour into this. Analyze the market and start decent channel about the topic that you succeed with TTS and stock footage.

I stopped because at the same time I'm building a decent quality channel on the same niche, with the same topics and great edits. Not worth investing time in this, as I only did this to check the market.

The huge secret for this:

If you would like huge retention with poor quality videos ( TTS + stock footage) select niche that only requires to speak things people love to hear.. it means - stories, how to know if a guy likes you, what is something.. best option to speak about human emotions and there is plenty of stock footage of crying, happy, laughing people. this way you can get good retention AND people still will watch video because scenes matches what the TTS speaks. :)

I tried speed help and overall i found it pretty bad. I felt it needed a LOT of hours just to make the voice over sound more natural and adjust the inflection, which sounds still robotic to me.

But i admit I'm not a great audio editor.

How did you improve the voiceovers exactly?

It is passive in the sense that old videos make money too.

try speechelo + bakground music. You can improve with voice filters on adobe premier. I don't know how it calls correctly, I will have to ask my editor.

I don't believe in passive income. :)
good method. but online tools any?
As far as I know pictory did a great job copying Vidnami - but I have not tried it, it's just a rumor.

Im focusing more now on decent content and if there's anything in the market like vidnami, perhaps I would launch even more channels.
