Read posts about people who say they've got over 300 blogs.

How can i possibly compete with that, and with my ambition of creating site authority by making unique content?

I just started also, so I'm fairly new at trying to grow.

    Hold me /white hat seo/

You're overwhelming yourself. The key to these things is to take them in bite size chunks. Start with one blog. Once you know what you're doing, start another one, etc.

Start from the scratch, Keep posting blogs frequently, articles should be in good quality contents. It seems slow when you're building this but you'll be rewarded if you work on it properly.

    Good luck mate!!!

Get one blog right. And you can start building more gradually, to be honest, you don't need 300 blogs to make it online. A dozen is enough (that is if you want to go to that extent).

    I'm working on it

I'm making it into a political news site. Do you have any useful advice/information/links that could help me on my path to relevancy? :)

You will get exponentially faster at creating blogs.

When I made my first website (eCommerce website), I had the domain registered for over a year before I really started making money.

Now that I know what I'm doing and have capital, I hire developers and content writers to put together a website in like 1-2 months. With multiple developers working on different websites concurrently, that adds up quickly. You can then use the profit from those new websites to fund even more websites. First you might hire developers to make one website. Then next three different teams making three websites. Then 10 people making 10 websites.

Then you get a project manager to mange the website development and can make increasingly more content. And so on and so forth.

In addition, blogs are generally quicker to develop than full eCommerce websites with more complicated functionality, so you'll be able to get a lot of blogs up more quickly than you think.

So just make the first blog. You can make progress exponentially and get to 300 way faster than it seems.

    Thanks for your reply m80

I honestly can't see myself anywhere in the foreseeable future managing THAT many blogs. But I understand the process you described.

What I meant with my original post regarding making blogs and such, is that it seemed to me like I am waaaay behind the pack in terms of comparing goals.

I just want to have my slice of the pie when it comes to site authority. But I learned that I'm but a drop in the bucket of dreamers ;)

I'm currently writing all my content and making learning as I go. I'm trying to build an online news website/blog and possibly monetize it. Right now I'm focused on creating quality content and kickstarting an organic following. I added some of my friends to the Facebook group I have for my blog. I know that's not sustainable, but it's a start.

I also don't have a domain name yet or web-hosting. I figured I would at least get a few unique articles pumped out before I do that.

    Any tips lad? Always appreciative.
Also, I would post my blog on here for you to inspect (if you'd be interested); but I need to get over 15 posts before I can post the link. Soon.

Ok, sorry for the incessant posting in my thread, but I just crossed over the 15 post threshold and decided to post my website on here.

    https://realpolitiknewscom.wordpress.com/

Am I on the right path? I'm looking to buy a domain and webhosting but I'm not sure which is the best one out there/which has more value.
My goal is to somehow allow my news blog to generate $150/day for me. Is that at all attainable? What would I have to specifically do in order to make my way there? I can already write quality content.

I might make this a new thread

Am not super familiar with monetizing news websites, but here's my comments anyway.

You could certainly make $150 per day with news websites. There are plenty of other people who do that, so surely you can do it too. Am not sure what your approach to turning the blog into money is. Straight-up advertisements are on their way out with ad blockers and people generally being prone to ignoring them.

Would recommend looking into alternate / more creative ways to make money:

    1. eBooks - You have a right wing news website. If you've ever been on Glenn Beck's website The Blaze, there are a lot of advertisements for eBooks. "Obummer's going to take your guns - learn how to keep your family safe for only $97.00 USD" and so on. A lot of website owners promote their own eBook with an ad-like thing in the corner of the page. Since it's your own website and it's hard coded into the page, it can't/won't really be blocked by an ad blocker.

    2. Sponsored content - Mostly self-explanatory.

In terms of promoting your page, the first thing that comes to mind is /r/The_Donald (and other similar subreddits), a highly active forum on Reddit. If you make a good post with a good title and then get someone in Bangladesh to throw you 100 upvotes for $15, the visibility from those initial 100 upvotes can easily spiral into a very highly upvoted post, which means that:
    * It will be seen by a lot of people
    * It will greatly benefit you in search engines. A page that gets 3,000 upvotes on Reddit will generally start to rank very well in the SERPs.

Lol how can I get a hold of a bangladeshi to upboat my articles? So far I can't get more than 13 organic upvotes.

I use Upwork. There are a variety of people on there. I use a guy named Bibek Adhikari from Nepal.

There are probably people on BHW who sell Reddit upvotes too. Maybe check the marketplace.
