I Told Someone I Am Ranking With My Own PBN. Do I Have To Worry If They Report Me To G?

I was recently having a talk with someone about our online businesses and was telling them how they should start their own PBN as that is what i am doing for my offline business and it is working great.

Now we got into an arguement and I am worried sick that they will report my site/PBN to the Big G and my site and PBN will be wiped out.

Is this a concern? If they were to report my site would it get penalized/deindexed and my PBN destroyed?

So stupid I know. Never again. Thats what you get when you try to help people. Keep your mouth shut.

There is 2 things you always need to keep private and only for yourself is niches and your sites.

It's possible if they report you your site could be de-indexed. You should never tell someone you're using a PBN or how you rank for that matter and especially never share your sites to parties who cannot be trusted.

Chances are close to 0 that G will do something about it. Over the years there are many similar cases and some have even reported full blog networks (blog networks run by some groups to rank their and customer sites) in Google Webmaster forum with full list of domains/links. Even then Google didn`t do anything about it. You´re just a small fish in the sea with your PBN. But if the person has all the info about your sites then there are other ways how he/she can wipe those out of search results quickly. Next time just keep your mouth shut.

    Cheers

I hope your now estranged friend is a newbie. You cannot control the worse at this point, so control your thoughts.

First they would need to find your pbn, and if you've done it properly that really shouldn't happen

Just my 2cents, keep everything private, and be careful what you discuss with your "online" friends.

I doubt google will take action on each reported case. But if you are too worried about that, here are 2 proactive steps to take IMO:
    1. Remove the money links from the PBN and try to get some legit links to maintain some rankings.
    2. Build another site and point the links from the pbn to the new site (try to make all on page factors identical, also same kind of domain quality and authority)

theres a guy in my niche ranking on the first page for a really hard keyword with a 200+ site pbn without links blocked and really badly made, only 2-3 articles per site and all look similar. On one of the forums I'm on a lot of other sellers are complaining about it, they have a whole thread in the vendors section telling people to report him and hes still there, has been for a year+ lol

    1- he won't report you > Great ,
2- he reports you > Great , you just learnt the most important thing, having trust in no one

It seems like you figured out not to share that kind of info going forward. And as others have pointed out, I don't think you'll be on google's radar even if he does report you.

But do you really have to worry about that? How big was the argument? Normal people wouldn't go and try to destroy someone's livelihood because of an argument.

I very very much doubt anything's going to happen, even if he does report you.

As long as you didn't tell him the sites you use within your PBN, you should be fine.

Thanks for the answers everyone, I do feel a little bit better now. It was actually someone I just met not online, we were having some drinks and stuff and talking business and it never really occurred to me after that I should have just kept my mouth shut. I do have all bots blocked so hopefully everything will be all good. Who even knows if they will say anything but I am paranoid as hell!

Altruism is noble, but when it comes to business and money most people probably wouldn't hesitate a second to stab you in the back if it gives them any advantage. Sad, but honor and morality are threatened with extinction.
