I thought I'd Ask. Do Any Of You Even Do Any Manual SEO Anymore? If So, What?

I can say I use to do manual seo when I first learned about SEO because I was told by "SEO Gurus" that blackhatting doesn't get you anywhere. I can't even believe I use to sit there all day and manually post. I did however get a few good rankings for fairly competitive terms. Well, ever since I have been involved in BHW and started my own blackhatting businesses, I have learned that I was quite wrong.

So, I have stopped manual seo such as blog comments and related forums for now and wanted to see what the big boys thought about this. Do you guys ever do any manual tasks? If so, what do you do manually? Anything manual seems pointless when you can do it thousands of times more efficient automated. Enlighten me please :)

I say this right now because I have been filter on spam just trying to leave comments on high pr blogs. Either way its spam right?

I outsource a lot of mine. I do almost all manual. If you want links that last best to do them manual.

I mostly do my SEO for my main site manually. I build high PR forum profiles and high PR, low OBL blog comments manually.

I did it manually for a site that in 5 months ranked #1 in Google for a low traffic but competitive niche.
80% of my backlinks for that site are on blogspot.

I think , the best way is to do it manually for the high pr pages and automatically for low pr pages

Manual blog comments | Manual EDU profiles | Manual Spinning of articles | Manual submission to targeted high PR directories....

I code my bots for all that stuff, MANUALLY!!! :D

But Seriously, manual work is still and will always be better than automated. Automation gives you quantity, manual gives you quality... Your choice!

White hat does not mean no automation. Instead of creating 100k backlinks in 3 hours they may make 100 backlinks in 5 days. You would be a fool not to use some of the automation.

I suppose that white hatters are supposed to use dial up too?

buildmyrank.com doesn't accept spins, if you sign up for their service you have a lot of manual or outsourced article writing to do. very well worth it, but you get 5 websites with 10 submits a day ... that's 50 articles a day, 1500 articles that are 150 words in length. That's 225,000 words!

No, you don't HAVE to do all the submitting, you don't have to submit 10 a day for 5 websites, but I always feel like I'm wasting money if I don't get the full amount. BMR has out-performed anything else for SEO I've ever tried to buy, but you'd assume so with the level of quality their network has and how much work you have to put into it.

Beyond that, I manually submit to ezinearticles, and that's about it.

Yeah, I guess BuildMyRank counts as manual work since I pay my writers to write each piece manually and then I submit them to the program manually.

I also do the high PR comments manually.

Occasionally I pay people on fiverr to do manual high PR profile links manually or manual directory submissions.

I was taught by white hat gurus too and stayed away from automation for far too long. I think it is a good base though, figuring out how to do things yourself and seeing their actual results in the SERPs. That way you can really see why certain tools are so valuable.

i manually post comments because scrapebox autoapprove comments are worthless. i also manually create some forum profiles because the really high pr sites don't use a CMS and thus wont work with Xrumer. Other than that, I try to automate everything

Great answers. I thought everyone was going to say "do not use any manual SEO" anymore.

On a side note, is there a way to hide yourself with proxies when doing manual posting. My Ip has been caught up in the spam fitlers and almost all blogs I try to comment on, it won't let me

It is really easy, just go to browser's connection settings, choose use proxy and input the IP address and port there. and you can find proxies to use at for example hidemyass-com

if you want PR's, articles, comments, forum posts, etc to stick then you have to go manual. Automation is great for finding places to submit to, creating accounts etc but mass linking has its limitations for the long term.

Best bet is to get a VPN...
HideMyAss pro is great as it has thousands of IPs with hundreds of servers across the world.

As with everything in life balance is everything.

Doing everything manual is so time intensive but everything automated isn't reliable. Find your balance and you're set!

I figured that blackhat is automation. Me spamming thousands of article directories is blackhat ya? What about spamming forum profiles with xrummer? Spam? Explain
