Hi there. As the title says, I think I have a really good business idea. In order to get to the point of making money, there is quite a bit of programming that needs to be done.

At the moment, I do not have either:

    1) enough time to do it myself (I´m all ready working full time).
    2) enough competence to do it myself (not far away, though).

    I also do not have:

    3) Enough money to get anybody else to do it.

But, if I get to the point of finished product, I am quite sure money will not be a problem.

I will need to be the first one to develop this product in order to earn money on it.

Out of the mentioned info, I´ve concluded I need to get somebody in on the project.

But how will I have to do this? Where do I look for people, and how will I split the ownership of the business idea/product? I mean, in order to both a) be on the safe side and b) give a big enough piece of the cake to the ones helping me out finish it? How will I make sure nobody is snapping my idea?

In advance, thanks for any thoughts/ideas regarding to this.

I am not asking for any critisism of me not knowing this (please). I just want to know how you would proceed if you were in this situation. Probhably I would need 1-2 web/ios/android developers for 4-5 months in order to have the product ready for launch (or the money to hire theese positions for the same ammount of time).

Get money/time/competence? If you're asking how to get 1-2 developers to work for 4-5 months for no pay then no, there is no magical way to get free labor.

So you need to write up a good "business plan" and find some investors.(JV section possibly)
Use the money from the investors to get some help.

You wont find any freelance developers that will work for 4-5 months without pay.

I?m sure many people have great ideas to make money but if you don?t have the skills or investment to proceed with your idea then how do you expect to move forward?

You can?t start a JV as there is no reason for that person to keep you once you share the idea, your too busy working full time to dedicate yourself to the project anyway.

When I first started IM I had a full time job as well. I would come home from work and work on my idea, that idea soon evolved into a profitable ecommerce business where I was receiving more orders than I could process.

You idea needs to follow with dedication, passion and a clear vision.

without investors who will get a return on your idea you are out of luck man. I would suggest applying for a loan from the bank to get this all underway.

Thanks for the answers. I am not looking for somebody to code this for free. I want to make this project happen, without a) somebody stealing the concept or b) I end up in a position where I do not own the project myself anymore. I´m allready on my way writing a business plan. As you say, Fathom (thanks for a good answer), I should probhably proceed on my own, until I get to the point where I can buy some extra competence (doing the stuff I do not know yet).

If you have no time, money, or resources I would suggest you come up with some creative bartering plans. You could exchange your product/service for advertising-whichever is less time I guess.

In your situation I would recommend to be slow and steady and build it up without any hurry. Once the product is matured, you can request some JV for promoting it.

Make sure you have the people that work with you sign a Non Disclosure Agreement. This won't prevent anyone from stealing your idea if they really want to, but it will help you build a case against them if they do.

You could always get a patent/s on your exact idea/s.
