    Hey all,

Please can anyone help explain what may be happening to me, and if I should do anything about it.

I am running an ad at the moment using BHCB, and although I didn't set it up the way I did to monitor for shaving, the results seem to speak for themselves...

Basically, I send my leads to a site - they fill out a simple form (name, email address) and then when they submit, it takes them to my BHCB locked page.

If they complete an offer, they then get to another form, this time a kind of questionaire.

Since I have been running this I have had over 50% of those who completed 'form 1', complete 'form 2', which I think is very good.

Problem is, of the leads that submit form 2, my network have only paid me for just over a quarter of them.

The offers I have in the gateway are all one page submit, so it's not like the leads are backing out halfway through or anything, and although it is possible that some have just waited for the timeout (I have it set at 50 seconds IIRC), I can't believe that almost 75% of them have worked this out...

So, the big question is am I being massively shaved? And if so, should I approach my AM about it, or is that just asking for trouble?

I am quite new to CPA, so don't really know what to expect as I have no historical stats to compare against.

Any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks in advance.

ppl tend to forget aff managers work for them!

If you move some traffic then i would say yeah.

if your not avg atleast 1k a week i say split test with another network and compare the results. In the end if you dont speak up you will continue to get robbed...

    Thanks for the reply IAMAZEME.

I appreciate your advice regarding split testing, but as I said I kind of have hard evidence of the numbers who have passed through my gateway.

I think I need to contact my AM, the offers I have been promoting are all 'incentive' type, and the network are cool with BHCB so I think I should be quite safe.

    Thanks again.

Ain't gonna matter. Split test before approaching your manager. Scrubbing is an open secret-proving that you're being scrubbed doesn't really give you any extra points.

Sounds like a classic shaving case to me, although one page submits and email submits are always the most prone to shaving.

This is also happening to me at the moment. BHCB is working fine and is not the fault. It is issues with the cpa networks. I have received different results for different cpa networks and will approach my AM about it once I have more credible results.

Complaining about being shaved won't get you anywhere, no affiliate manager is going to own up to shaving, even though pretty much every single network shaves, even if it isn't the network, the advertisers shave, I mean - Why not? What have they got to loose? Turning around and saying "We don't want to buy for 10,000 shit leads", the network knowing they are rubbish leads, it's not as if they should pay you for sending shit traffic.

If your sending a decent volume to a single offer, that's when more often shaving occurs, I suggest you run a number of offers, even if it's on the same network, use a PHP script or something similar to randomize what offer is used.

Generally speaking though; incentive offers are shaved to fuck as it is, it's rubbish traffic, which is nearly worthless to the advertiser, so I don't really see why they pay for it, because really - They are paying next to nothing because of the shaving.
