I woke up today to an email from webmaster tools saying that I have received a manual action penalty for unnatural link building. The problem is I've never built links to this site! It's around 5 months old and it's 100% white hat, no links, handwritten content. This leads me to believe that I've received negative seo, I checked ahrefs.com and it says no new links have been built to my site, I tried [link:www, site, com] and I still can see any links built. Does anyone know how I can check the links built to my site? My plan is to find the links built, disavow all of them and continue with the site but I cannot find any of the links built.

Go to webmaster tools and download all of your links.. see if you notice any suspicious anchor text or anything.

How do I do that? I looked everywhere and can't find the links that they're claiming that I built.

Could be a redirect that is blocking crawlers in robot.txt. Also try this:

Site Dashboard -> Search Traffic -> Links to your site
You will have a summary of the links pointing to your site along with their anchor texts.

your best bet would be running a report on Ahrefs. Next step would be a Link Detox run.

Have you lose rankings or experienced a drop in traffic levels? If you do not have any links, it could be negative seo but again, you should be able to find links. Webmaster tools will be the bst place.
