    I sold my freakin house.

Had to drop 30 grand over the two years its been on market in this fuckin UK credit crunch but hey the house is in good area but not done up too well even though a bit was done with remortgage so the mistake I made was to get a remortgage when I already had a house paid for.

So Now I have to decide where to go in Asia.
I dont know about Thailand again as you can get ripped off with buying condos there even though I met an English legit company plus you cannot work there unless your brain surgeon or something.

But then again I like japanese girls however Tokyo is really expensive of course.

But after splitting the money as brother owns half house paying remortgage back I will only have like £30,000 left. And that will go pretty quick so I thought of China get wife quick stay ther esell stuff there help of you BHters:tee: Make my money back and more.

But Im feelin better today knowing I can pay back the remortgage and not have the house reposessed as its been freakin close and miracle how I survived last year and half.

Have you been to China? Beautiful country but you need money to live there comfortably. You don't want to live among the locals. You'd need an expat community.

I travel around a lot. Does it have to be an asian country? Considered europe?

Wow....you just made me dream if one day I got a good sizable chunk of cash I would move to Mexico........where a nice house is cheap and I could live comfortably without stressing.

    Are you serious ?

Most asian countries can be very strange for an european or american, I'd be cautious with such places.
I hear people always grin at you (as european) there and as soon as you pass by and take a look back you can see their eyes staring at your back as if they'd like to stab you down.
You might not always be welcome and the cheaper the place the more envy and hate you'll generate by your "wealth".

While china, japan or thailand can be a real nice adventure .. living there is a whole new topic. Even if it's more expensive, I'd want to live where "standards" are about as high as the ones I'm used to, and people should be able to communicate with me of course;)

30k £ is not really much when you've no real income and need months to settle at a new place.

Before you go ANYwhere take your time and inform yourself about monthly costs and prices there.
Put all of it on a sheet and add 50% (worst case scenario), then you at least know what you are dealing with.

You should choose Thailand for many obvious reasons. The girl as so much hotter here than China. Chinese "decent" girls are actually a bit snobby and you need a lot of dough to even be considered by a middle class, high society girl in China. Thailand is very different. The rules are very relaxed here. You live here and make lots of money without having a work permit.

I'm talking from experience so if you need some advice just pm me.

Been living in Thailand for more than 5 years now and I can't complain :)

Have you got a business or two or something?

I did think of doing a CELTA course so I could teach English but a CELTA is not much good without a degree

I've always been an islander. Cayman Islands or Costa Rica. Of course the touristy places are expensive, but that's why you don't see the locals living there, just working.

i hate to tell you, but emigration is not for you.

you are depressed, unemployed and have no higher education.
you make no money in im even though you tried for 1 and a half year.

    now your plan is to:
do you really think this will sort your life out?

    my suggestions:
-see a psychiatrist (depression is an illness)
    -start working out (weights, baby)
-continue working in im (dont give up)
-try finding a job (any job)
-get a formal education (go to college, evening school or something)

once you have your life in order you can think about living in another country. but for now this is going to break your neck. the culture shock will be too much. take this little advice from a fellow european who was depressed and also lived in asia.

I was in China last year, No idea about secure Job ..but while I was there most of the people I met was English teacher. In China it is like If you are White then you will get a English teaching Job for sure :p It doesn't matter which country you are from. But without having proper Chinese language skill you can't communicate with local people. About internet always ready to use VPN because China blocks almost every popular websites such as youtube, blogger, wordpress, dailymotion, twitter (now unblocked I guess) . It is really frustrating

If you are looking for Asian Countries. Why not visit India. Living costs are not more than $500 per month. And No visa problems, You can get it within a week.

bangkok is cheap! you can rent a ding daeng flat for just 50 bucks a month, live off .5 cent papaya salad and even have a dealer as neighbor! perfect place for depressed foreigers! No seriously, do a vacation first before moving anywhere.. I came to thailand 6 years ago with 6000 eur, got a house with pool now.. if thailand then go for bkk. pataya is the asian moloch..
