Find him offline with some strong men, and do the needful. He will refund... Add air tickets, lodging, sight seeing, drinks costs, miscl expenses, taxi fares, ...

was he your friend or family if yes then talk to you elderly family member for refund. If no then never send money again to a stranger using friends and family option.

Name the member or ask mod whether you can open shitlist with his name provided you have something in writing suggesting that member is the scammer's partner or whatever similar. There was a similar case earlier where a member recommended another and that third person scammed, while the introducer was also held responsible for scammer's conduct. Try your luck.

PayPal is very strict about the family and friends policy, you won't get refund period. That's why scammers tell you to send them money via that way.

I've dealt with this before - the only way to get it back is to talk to your bank and explain the circumstances. Paypal won't do shit but your bank can strongarm them into giving you money back. Best of luck man, I'm sorry that really sucks :(

No one will review their secrets, period. And yes, rightfully (forum members mentioned) that PP won't refund as you've agreed to the T&Cs as well as remitting the funds through multiple means.

However, you may report to police, secure a affidavit and lodge a complaint to PP. Review their response towards the case.

    a1eks,

Unless you can prove some collusion between the two, your beef is with the actual scammer, not the BHW member dinkolukic.

If you can prove that they were working together to scam you or that the person that actually scammed you is a BHW member, then SL him/them, otherwise, there's nothing we can do here.

If I remember right, somebody posted a thread some time ago sharing his experience on how he got his money back that was sent using friends/family method by contacting paypal and reporting the payment as unauthorized. Maybe you should try this as a last resort.

But yeah, sending payment to somebody as friends/family is a pretty stupid move, but the scammers are pretty good at convincing people. This is why when somebody asks me to send the money as friends/family, I tell them that I'll send some extra money to cover the fees, if they still insist on sending it as friends/family, I just avoid doing any business with them.
