    Hi all,

I decided to go the Fb route. Since I know to code, I took a basic viral app, remade it with my own idea and ran a cloaked campaign towards it.
The add went live, the app is working, but my stats so far are 168 clicks on add and 60 new likes. This is no way near viral, not even in the same area code.

I did my best to represent the app in the add, so it's highly related, anything but mentioning there is an app behind the click. As I see it I did a good job since some of the clicks went through the app, thus giving me the likes.

And here's where I'm stuck, this being my first attempt I have no data to compare with...

Do I need more clicks for the app to go viral?
Is my app idea not incentive enough?
Are my likers so annoyed by the app that all of them deleted the wall post seconds after going through the app?

I really am in the dark here and I could use some pointers...

What type of permission is your app asking from them....if you are asking for page permissions or post to profile permissions or email then many wouldn't allow these and won't use the app after they see the permission asking page.

Also if your app goes on to make some wall post or add a picture to the user profile right after the user uses it, the user may find it annoying. The best way isn't to post right at that moment (if you are posting some unrelated marketing stuff).
Instead if your app is using server authentication, then the access token you will get is valid for longer time (60 days after offline access depreciation). So just store the access token in your DB and make a post after sometime say 3 days or 1 week and continue to make such posts with big intervals (4-7 days) until your access token expires.

If you are using client side authentication (JS), then you will get a short lived access token and you need to exchange it for a long lived token, which you can save in your DB and post regularly as above.

Thanks for your reply but I really don't see how this can help me out...

My app is just a regular viral app that requires a like before seeing the content which is a sort of "mini-game", think "what's your indian name?".

Nothing special here, but still I face this issue...

Ok, I've stopped the ads... this is waste of money... 203 clicks and only 75 new likes... I could make more likes than this just promoting my page in the ad... It apparently won't go viral...

Will someone experienced with viral apps share some data?
