I am a student also also doing IM simultaneoulsy. I don't know why but I SUCK so much in academics. I know I am competent enough but procrastination pulls me down and today I F*&#D my paper and so much worried of failing which will decide whether I will be sitting for home another year or will go to college

Well most of the time I was spending on IM work and I had pretty much great success where I made around 2k$ a month and present make somewhere the same range.

I dont care about the job as I can start my business later but all I care is my academics and my parents expectations..
I dont know why but i feel like a LOSER when all my competitors are moving ahead and i am staying stagnant in the same place

Please help me out as this stress is just KILLING me from inside... :(

Your not alone dude, I am doing ok in two of my classes, but in another one I feel like shit, it is hard and I get confused, I just hope to pass it with a low grade. I am really bad at math. So I am working with my friends that have time to help me out, and stuff. Maybe you should do the same, ask friends to help if they can, or get a tutor

I am a Student as well and do IM as well.

You need to concentrate on BOTH.IM is important but Studies are more important.

It will be tough, but you need to get over it.

I also do Studies and IM both.

Do more IM in normal days but before exam give more focus on your studies... This is what I do... Do not worry, you will pass with good grades :)

Seems that you have created the thread twice.. I posted in the other thread.. however this is what I have to say

See.. we all have a problem.. The problem is we give so much of importance for relative performance and now it has become a norm. World will not appreciate us for what we are, but how we compare with others. Slowly this is getting in to us, and even we start to do the same to ourselves.

Instead of thinking "Am I being happy with what I do?" we keep asking "Am I doing better than the guy next to me?".

It doesn't matter mate. You have a skill set which no one else in your class have. You can survive no matter how the job market is, for an accountant or an IT engineer, recession means doom, but for an Internet Marketer it is a great opportunity.

Agreed that your parents will not be happy with your academics. You cannot make your parents happy all the time, life is all about disappointments and accomplishments. let go of the past, what is over is over..

I don't think you have the problem of procrastination, because you are making 2k a month (as a part time IMer), which is good by any means. Yes your peers can get better placements, but what you have is the opportunity to recruit them at some point of time.

Like Mark Twain said, 20 years down the line you won't regret the things you did, but will regret the things you didn't do.. One day you will be happy that you did IM at an early age.

    Be happy... spread happiness..

    Same situation for me.

I thinking about quiting school, but parents dont allow that.
Education doesnt change anything much. You still can get a job without it , and since you making good money online you can start offline business, and live better then those who still studying in damn school.

To all the students out there,

How do you feel like you're failing if you're making money with IM? For example, OP, you're making $2k a month as a IM! That's a great start and by the time you're done with college, you're going to make even more.

The jobs that graduating college will provide you with are never going to be as great as running your own internet business. I know because I've been there.

My advice is to look at the big picture: you have freedom by being successful in internet marketing so keep at that. That doesn't mean slack off and don't do well in school...but as long as you get that diploma...you're good.

I like to help ppl get through those times in their lives, especially during the college and post college years cuz that's the most confusing times in our lives. If anybody happens to need a pep talk, feel free to PM me. For reals

I don't know if this will help, but I know for a fact that students are making a killing with Verve! a new healthy energy drink (I'm biased, because am too.. and I'm an old guy LOL)

This is a mobile opt-in page I created, but it gets the point across, and you can full screen it on a desktop computer.

Thanks man. That was a very inspiring reply. Yes I do have skills which can help me to build my own business but I really don't know what happens to me in crunch situations like the final exams. I feel very sweaty. Maybe I was unprepared....

My parents are very proud of me as of now as I am running the house myself at a tender age of 20. But only they they regret is my academics which I not even worth discussing as I have failed a lot. Its not that I am dumb or something. Its just that I can't manage both properly...

I am still learning..I dont care about my friends whether they get a job ..anyways I am earning more than my friend so that makes me a bit happy...

Still Wish i was perfect in both the fields like some are who i know...
[Sorry for the duplicate thread it was by mistake..]

It would be best if you could excel at both task, since you value them. But since you currently can not, you must choose and focus on one.

Make a decision that you will only excel in one and that you will not be bothered by perceived failure on the other. Once you do make that decision, there is no stress. Stress comes from uncertainty. You will have no uncertainty, because you took a decision - you cut your loses and moved on.

I'm sorry, but it's largely a matter of maturity. I work full time (40 hours), I am going to school to finish my BS in network security (twice a week, 5 hours each day - plus the homework involved) - In the last year I've completed 21 classes (it's a school that is really good at catering to those that work - so I take 2 'hybrid classes' - I meet 5 hours once a week for each class and the other class day is online - two classes at a time - 5 weeks for each term). I don't have an Grade point average, I have an exact Grade Point - 4.00. That's right, 21 classes, 21 A's. Oh... and did I mention that I have a family as well AND do IM?

YOU set your priorities and honestly, when you're young, many people don't set them wisely. They party too much or they spend hour after hour reading about stuff that largely is useless to them. I'm not saying that the education you get at BHW is usseless - far from it - BUT when I have homework to do, I do it. When I need to set something up for my biz, I do it. Now I am fortunate that I'm not especially busy with my day job and as long as something isn't breaking, I've got time to do my homework or read the BHW boards... or even do some of my IM research, or light setup. (I don't have my installed power tools at work... lol)

So... this may seem harsh, but my suggestion to you is GROW UP. YOU know when you need to do your homework - so stop procrastinating and get it done. My Wife hates housework but she knows it's got to be done so right after she puts our son on the bus to school, she texts me and let's me know she's getting started before she sits down and gets comfortable... cause she knows that once she gets on facebook, that the hours fly by.

So the choice is yours... you gonna do it, or are you gonna just complain that you can't?

I hope you manage to focus yourself and git'r'done. Good luck!

    Absolutely right.. Can't agree more..

Sorry for going off topic.. In the Sacred Book of Bagavat Gita Krishna says the following verse "sanshayatma vinashyati" It means "indecisiveness will destroy you". Decisions could be right or wrong. Very often the correctness of the decision will be known after the decision is implemented. However indecisiveness will destroy you, your happiness, your relationships and everything...

In American / Western culture it is common to say "Any decision is better than no decision." What is the literal translation of the individual words sanshayatma vinshyati?

To the OP: Failing at something doesn't mean you F asterisk hash dollar sign percend D'd your life, it just means you are going to have to try again and try harder if you care about it. Then again, I have been told that is another very American / Western culture way to think. If you are worried about what your parents are going to say, just nut up and tell them the truth about what is going on with you. They are people too, after all. They apparently care about what is going on with you so tell them. As for the self doubt and pity, you're better off looking forward with what your next move is instead of dwelling on your failure. Nothing you can do about it now except cry about it, and that isn't going to accomplish much.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, I really hope you work it all out. I have performed my own share of idiotically monstrous screw-ups. Just giving you my honest opinion.
