I posted a thread in the lounge about the hacking taking place in N Korea being unlikely and my opinions on it, and the post got removed.

But the post wasn't against the politics rules that the forum has, it was literally about whether the hack was technologically possible there? Why was the post still removed?

Cause it's a news event or something? Thought it was a fine forum to discuss, even got a few responses.

    Just wondering why?

The thread was deleted by one of my fellow Moderators
because it was getting too political. We have a strict rule
on BHW: No Political or Religious discussions. Why?
Because Flame Wars inevitably erupt on threads where
either one of those topics are brought up Thus, they
become an unnecessary distraction to the forum.

That's fine, I figured so much. It really was a technology based question to start, but I understand where the mods are coming from. Thanks Wiz!!

Damn, we can't even have technology related threads without people turning into a political debate. :banghead:

The Sony fiasco is a lose/lose situation. If they showed the movie and a theater got bombed or something, people would have expressed outrage. They don't show the movie, people express outrage.

Wouldn't it be more of the cinema company fault for showing it and not sony if a bombing did occur? Sony only pulled it due to too many cinema's pulling it,they know a bombing threat is unrealistic.

It wouldn't be financially sound for Sony to release the movie because the theaters won't show it. As for who would get blamed, it's 2014. News outlets are all competing for hits. When someone dies, everyone gets blamed. The media drags out a story until the President, terrorists, and the murderer's third grade teacher get blamed.
