Put some content on it fast, make it look like fan/following site if you don't you could have the domain just taken off you if they/someone wanted it.

You should also create pages on popular sites such as digg, hubpages, squidoo and yahoo answers. That will get you some instant traffic.
People say it gets you instant traffic, but I've NEVER gotten more than a click or two from these places

bizcredit: You don't get lots of traffic from these sites, use bots and keyword rich - you can't go wrong. Also use stumble upon and a bot to get lots of traffic - I suggest you do this marcostx9.
IDEA: Go look at president bush website, view source download all the page and replace all the bush text and images with obamasis ones. Then put it up and use social media and posts questions like "he is already president?" and stuff like that, bookmark it, stumble it and I can't see why it would not go viral. Make sure you do this asap though as the window is closing.

Don't say thanks use the thankyou buttons. I would defo do that it should go viral if you do it right and work hard tonight and have it up by 2moz. Site should take no more than couple of hours, monetise it would take bout an hour and promotion would be on going.
Make sure you use a disclaimer page though to say its a joke and not real and the real elections take place on 'date' etc. Just to be on the safe side.

My take on this would be to ya have the blog, but add a forum. On elections day be the first one to post on digg about how obama got elected. Then point them to your forum at your site and with your .com name they will go. Tell them to talk about what they think about it and all that. Then use every method possible to get you as much diggs as you can so you can get this thing viral. If you get top diggs, which could easily happen with a post like that. Then your forum will be so popular it will be crazy... You would need good hosting btw if you got on digg front page.

So far as how to monetize it -- search for how others did it (Bush) on the top 10 sites, then copy them. No since in recreating the wheel. Add your own spin as well.

I'd consider grabbing an ecard script. Look at it this way: Assuming he does win, there will be plenty of people that will be super happy about it, and want to send happy cards to each other.
If he loses, though, you can bet that a lot of people will be in denial, and they might want to send the cards anyway.

I think he has a great Idea make it so content relevant to the domain name. You have a winner here. I also think he will be the next president of the United States.
That's what it's called! I was trying to explain to someone about this and they said "No anyone can buy a domain and keep it or sell it for money." I couldnt think what its called to research it.
