A friend of mine is a singer. I was able to get him almost 1 million real YouTube views for just one of his videos and more than 1200 Facebook fans (generated from that video only).

About a year ago, he basically told me that I could use ALL his songs and profit from them in any way I wanted as long as I promoted his music. He told me I was free to sell his music and keep all earnings.

From the beginning I thought his music wouldn't sell and that the best way to make money from it was to offer free downloads of his songs and use a content locker to force people to fill out a CPA offer before downloading.

I had other projects going on and I really didn't expect to earn much money with his music so I didn't do anything but just created a Facebook fanpage for him and let people download his main song after "liking" the page.

Now that I see all the views his main video has generated as well as all the facebook fans that have liked his page just to get the download, I am starting to think I should go ahead with my original plan and put a content locker for each of his songs.

Of course, I will have to make a video for each of his songs, upload it and get tons of views which is not a problem. What do you guys think? Should I go for it or just forget about it? Am I being too optimistic and people will not fill out a CPA offer to get his music or am I just being plain stupid and leaving money on the table?

Thank you guys for reading my story. Have a successful week!

Here is the truth of the matter:

-You will make nothing if you do not do this.

-You have a chance to make money if you invest the time to do it.

This is why most people do not earn much in IM, they never start the projects that they think of. Just go do it.

You're not too optimistic. There are many people out there who will pay/fill/answer in order to get something (doesn't really matters, music or soft).

But you will never know without doing anything. Just test it out with a few songs and see if it converts well - then you can do that with other songs ;)

    It's all about trying :)

Whatever you do, you should make sure that everything is in writing. If you implement your plan and do make a lot of money, I'm sure your friend won't be quite so understanding...just a word of warning.

Exactly, always do have something in writing. Whether its a friend or family member, you would be surprised how many times these things start off and end up being a mess. Good luck you ya.

Here's an idea. Replace the original video with a 15 second clip which after the first 15 seconds says that all of the music/videos has been moved to his official site. If your buddy has the hype you say he does then setting up a quick site and selling his music via there for hardcopies (cds), selling posters (get a gfx designer on fiverr), etc. You could also add his music to itunes. Thinks of the sales.

    Make a twitter.
    Make a fb page.

    Go balls out man.
