I am a newbie here... Hi to all that didnt see my welcome in the Introduction thread. Anyway-- I am in the brainstorming/selecting a niche phase of my business venture and I'm not sure if the research that I am doing is correct, so I'm going to give you all the data of my keyword search term and you tell me if it is something that I should go after or not please. I watched SO many how to research niche videos and articles that now my head is COMPLETELY jumbled! So here it goes:

The keyword is a music artist ( Would love to tell you who; however, if I havent F'd this up, I'd like to be able to use it-- lol) Anyway, for my research:

I visited various sites like Shopping.com, Ebay etc and the artist is on the top music *consumer buying list) list in the first 5 on each site
When I looked at Google Insights there is a 165,000 monthly volume search for this particular keyword and other terms have high monthly searches such as : 18,100 (for one, another 165,000 monthly, 8,100, 6,660, etc. all with low competition
When I researched the other sponsors for this artist (Using Google sponsored ads) there are 6 sponsored ad campaigns for this artist.
When I google his name; however, there are 2,230,000 results! none of which however, is: thisartistsname.com, mostly a lot of youtube videos and metcafe videos, and lyrics sites.
Also there are a ton of Yahoo Groups centered around his genre of music which that genre is VERY popular *my favorite BTW* genre however, it is still a considered microniche, when I search :music, (the genre) According to insights it gets about 40,500 searches monthly, also on the top music of amazon, shopping.com, and ebay Low competition as well (which I understand can be a good or bad thing) in this case there are 8 sponsored ads for the keyword search. However the genre keyword that I am using when I google the phrase has 1,120,000 results.

What do you think? As a newbie do you feel that this is something that I should go after or run for the hills?

Also, any suggestions as a good way to promote a music artist site or blog using CPA offers or affiliate offers would help assist me in my brainstorming- NOTE: I do not need you to give me all the answers just throw some more ideas out there for me to add to my list.

Thanks a bunch for your help

Any time you think you have a good idea in IM...don't toss the idea around so much. Cover the angles, and then go for the idea. Think it through from beginning to end, and do it. If it works, scale it up.

I understand that completely; however, I just want to know if with the results that I got, if it was even worth my time and effort to try to get it going. With the information that I provided would YOU try to build something around the artist? TIA
