Dear friends. I ask for your help because I need to make a website to my boss. I have made some websites before, but I used mainly Frontpage and basic html programing for the process...but this time I need a script with a "backoffice" that I can easily access from a browser and change content. A BackOffice that allows me to customize the content, pages and links of the website in an EASY manner, so that me (or my boss) can easily change content at work...I have tried content managers such as Druppal, Jomla, Geeklog, postnuke, xoops...but, in my opinion, they are of very dificult interface for me and specially my boss:)...I need simple interface for a very simple website, with some text with images, with about 10 pages...to make my boss happy:D...It's a website of medical content (Surgery), no big deal...

I already tried to search the web, but I can't find anything to fit my needs.

I would really appreciate you guys if you help me out and post a link for a script to serve my needs...

    Thank you in Advance.

    The Surgeon

Thanks Nick for the answer. Wordpress is simple in fact, however it's still a blog.
I would need the same static webpages and content over time, without the usual time link struture as blogs. Else my Boss will go "hey, a blog! Anybody can do that, I would like a website!".

But there is an idea Nick. I can link a wordpress blog from the website. This way he would post updated content on the blog on a regular basis and people would comment on them. The blog can go on the subdomain.

Thanks for the idea Nick. Still need a simple script. If it could be good looking, with some flash content on the top it would be a plus, but it's not essencial...

Yes, WP is your best friend. The revolution theme looks grate, and its not to hatd to edit wp themes to all your needs. If you want to go trough the route where you make everything from scratch, I suggest that you to piratebay. There is one good tutorial called building mysql driven websites form scratch, but you need to have the basic knowledge of PHP, and html. If you are lazy, you should go with WP

Yes...I'm lazy...at least like to use my time on useful stuff...maybe wordpress could work fine. Anyway I will go to piratebay and get the info out of curiosity...need to know a little more php for the future. For basic language programming I usally go to w3schools, but I need practicle examples for learning.

    Thanks.

WordPress also allows you (or your boss) to select either "post" or "page" when you are adding content to the blog/website.

This way, you can either have a long list of content ordered by posting date (if you create a "post"), or have static pages that can be have content and additional links in them (if you create a "page").

You can also find many websites that offer free wordpress themes. Just type in "free wordpress themes" (with or without the quotes) in g00gle.

Oh and one suggestion is to very quickly have wordpress installed, next, add a decent theme to it and get started posting content. Otherwise, you might spend too much time searching for that "perfect" theme rather than get the blog created and running. :)

Good luck with your project. ;)

    Cheerio.

Thanks. I was not aware of this (inexperience:)).

I generally try also to be quick doing things and on the run...If we always try to find the perfect conditions we keep trying to do things forever...Anyway I guess I can change the theme anytime....

    Thanks Cheerio.

I Just Wanted to Thank you all.

I used Wordpress Revolution Theme City. Changed a few images, some categories, pages, etc.

You were all right, the interface is really easy! Even my boss got it!
He was really impressed with the pretty website...a few plus points for me...
And I owe you all for that! Thanks!

Just one tip. If you are using a unlegit version on any theme for wordpress check the code. They sometimes put in the template links to warez sites or porn sites

i suggest you to buy a template, not from ripped one. I believe that your boss will be ask you how you made it?

you can found super duper cheap template http://mhakim.web.id/main/?page_id=292.

then you can make it using dreamweaver.
