Hey there,

so I need to learn almost everything about SEO. I need to have at least a broad understanding about this subject. I know what SEO is yet I don't know how to apply it. Plus, I am just a programmer, so take that in mind. :)

I have already started googling for SEO (what is seo, beginners guides, best practices, etc). Is there any good website that explains all about SEO? What I want is white hat seo since I don't think my company where I am working would like to go into black hat road. :)

Best regards.

Learn on this forum, this forum guides you each and everything specifically visit rooms Black Hat SEO, White Hat SEO.

Yeah, that would be the best answer hehehe, and I'll start reading almost every thread in this section YET there must be a good website with relevant information about SEO.

I don't think any website would give you "enough" knowledge about SEO. Usually, IMO, people learn it over the years by actually trying, failing, trying, succeeding and so on...

SEO is all about testing, nobody will reveal his secret sauce, trust me. So start reading and take action...

That means that NOTHING is guaranteed? Imagine a guide/article that saying that I need to do this in order to rank. Do they know if that works or not?

OP.. my thoughts exactly. I've been wondering for quite a while now. If there only was a place where you'd find lots of people with experience in BH and WH SEO.
One would need a whole forum dedicated to this, with thousands of visitors each month. And the more experienced users would have to write guides and tutorials for the newbies so they can learn and start figuring out stuff by themselves. Maybe even add a section dedicated to the sole purpose of these users talking about their experiences, mistakes and success. Similar to.. I don't know.. a journey, I guess?

But you're right. I guess that's pretty much impossible to find.
If you'll excuse me now, I have to search through this completely unrelated forum I'm in to find threads not even remotely regarding your problem.

Regards.

Learning by doing and failing.
Setup a Blogger blog and try to rank for a keyword.
Download Seo tools they will say whats wrong with your website.
Try to fix it and see what will happen.

Are you writing from Mars or something? Why did it take a year for your message to reach here?

Do some reading on basics from wikipedia and the like then use BHW for detailed info on different link building techniques.
