Hi everyone I tried to install Windows Xp while I has Windows Vista Home Basic and something screwed up with my boot.ini file. If someone of you has this system please go to c: , boot.ini file using WinRAR and then copy the content and post it here. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks

So do you need XP or Vista boot.ini? Have you still got the original CD? Use the tools on that CD to repair the boot problem.

I need the content of the file boot.ini and I don't have the CD of Vista. I would need to download it, burn it and then repair the OS... it's a lot of work, but if I have the boot.ini file, I think(I'm almost sure) that the problem will be solved

    vista does not use boot.ini

put the Vista install DVD in your player (or mount it)

    - Go to windows console : start menu > execute then "cmd" in the console

    - Go to the boot folder on vista's hd (ie d:\boot\)

    - Enter the following command : bootsect.exe -NT52 All

You should revert to XP boot loader...
