I have an SEO client that has 3 personal bad web articles come up about him and his business when his name is google searched. He has asked me to get them either delisted or pushed far down the rankings through ranking other pages above it.

I know plenty on SEO but have not dealt with a request like this before and have a few questions!

Perhaps we could spam them, duplicate their content... If we can take the bad press down, then I am happy to do anything.

Does anybody know some solid tactics to get this job done?
Can anybody offer this as a service?

If so, How much should I charge for something like this?

You have to flood it with good review and good things.
Try to rank with the following keywords :
    "brand + ripoff"
    "brand + review"
    "brand + complaints"
    "brand + bad review"

Put some review in it, try to spin the negative aspect of the brand (so, you can't just go around and praising your brand 100%, try to give it some plus and cons, making the reader trust your article). It's not only about ranking, it's also about making the reader trust your spin. If the reader don't trust your spin, granted he will keep looking for negative reviews.

Do not spam the news site. It will sky rocket up (if there's room). The most effective way is to get a lawyer involved and talk to him about your options. We had one client who was falsely accused of a crime and although we managed to clear up the serps,he wanted it totally gone for peace of mind. So after we did our job he got his attorney on board and they finally caved and took down the article.

They didn't take us or the client's call seriously until the attorney showed them who was boss. They basically took it down immediately to avoid going to court. News stations can be real dicks and they don't want to take down their content whether it's truthful or a lie.

It was an expensive battle, but in this client's profession a damaging article particularly one that's completely false was very damaging to both his reputation and employment eligibility.

If the article is not under your access do approach to them asking to remove content.
Or you have to post good reviews and rank them above negative one.
