What is the best automated way to compile a large list of business owners that use Wordpress for their sites.
    Hoping to get business name - email - phone - site url . . . .

I have been using sort of the "old school/regular" ways of doing Google searches for "Powered by Wordpress" etc. and hiring a outsourcer on the cheap to manually do it - but are there any "scraper" tools out there that could automate this in a way that we could compile a larger list - possibly 2000-4000 potential contacts a month?

All the tools I have found require keyword search parameters - so they only pull maybe 10-20 sites at a time - which I have some outsourcers hammering away at but sort of a long slow process to get us to 1000 names a week?

Thanks in advance for any ideas that are better than whay I have right now!!

Just stick your footprints into gscraper or scrapebox and find yourself a huge list of generic keywords for the keywords field. Buy some good proxies and you should have a list of thousands of sites in less than a day.

Scraping with "Powered by Wordpress" keyword will get you all sort of results not just business.

You can scrape directories like yellowpages and yelp for businesses and get their NAP and url as well. Then you can simply run the url list through builtwith.com api to filter out all the sites that run on Wordpress. You'll be charged $1 per 20 API requests. Hope this answers your question.

I've just scraped a dozen of urls from yellow pages and scanned it with Scrapebox's Page analyzer addon. It found 5 Wordpress sites out of 14 results. Took about 2 Mins in total. Pretty good numbers I say.

Can Scrapebox work for every country's Yellow Pages?

    Thanks everyone - great info - got a guy on Odesk to pull 1000 names for $40 . . . .
Just thinking I'd test my idea before starting to learn Scrapebox -
Sending out some Wp Security offers to that list - see what happens.
    THANK!!
