    Hi everyone,

I have been trying to make money online for about a year now and while I definitely have the desire to learn how to be successful I am finding it not so successful at the moment. I have worked with several opportunities over the years but most of my upline seems to be not responsive to my requests. Also, I am only a student therefore I can't afford to spend $$$$ on getting more exposure for the product. Would love to have a mentor that could take me through right from the beginning and provide guidance to making money online. If I could help to start making some money online, I would put some of that back into marketing and promotion of the product. My university has nearly 20,000 students (nearly 1/5th the cities population!) so there are possibilities for exposure there, but I know most of them are like myself financially and they would be sceptical about anything that requires them parting out their precious pennies. Also, and I have seen this alot over the years, people are looking to "make millions overnight" type of thing. From a beginning point of view that seems unrealistic but if you build things up sustainably then the chances are there.

I have a strong interest in web design, website promotion, and am aquiring new programming skills eg with Java, Python, PHP and soon Javascript, C, C++. I am also very interestedin S.E.O and have been looking into the various methods involved. I watch Google like a hawk and also the HTML5 and CSS3 rollouts as well.

So if anyone (preferably someone that is already making a decent amount online) can be a mentor to me, and understand the fact that I don't have any outlay, I welcome your assistance.:)

So, ok, you kinda told us that you have been trying, but it didn't work. Now, the real question is have you tried really hard? Have you really tried to start one method and nurture it to the very end? Have you really tried to find a niche, write 100 articles for it, do (at least) 50 manual links every day? I could be wrong, but I don't think so...the point is that IM is numbers game...when things get hard you automate or outsource it, but unless you try it all, you cannot say that you tried hard enough.
Just out of curiosity, what have you tried?

    okay
there are 20,000 students at your university right, why don't you monetize them.

    how to monetize 20,000 students

firstly do some research and find out what students want at what age

an example ipads, ipods at 18-22 etc or college degrees etc

after you got that go to a cpa network and find an offer (eg free ipad, etc)

now you need to drive traffic.

    How ?
If your university has an emailing system in place you can use that and send out emails to most of the students (were to get the usernames i dont know)

    or
hand out flyers or someting (search forum for more)

then set up a landing page at bogspot

and hope fully you should make atleast $50- $60 and reinvest that money back into IM

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

never give up, persistence is key to success

about finding a mentor, that could prove difficult because successful people are busy counting cash and protecting their methods

best way is to try your own methods, test, test and twist, no need for large investments

Sounds more to me like motivation is actually your problem. Having been there myself I know that starting out in any endeavor can seem both overwhelming and futile. Maybe a mentor would help but self-motivation is really the key to IM.

Frankly, it's a lot better if you can kick yourself in the ass rather than relying on someone else to do it for you. Why? Because some mornings even the mentor lacks motivation and then what are you going to do?

    Hey everyone,

Thanks heaps for your tips. Obviously I have alot to learn about I.M... I am still trying, I just need to not let things get to me...

To Minimo88: Thanks for your idea. I am already considering something like that, though I have seen most students suprisingly have iPhones etc lol.

I am working towards being a qualified web developer, but it still would be nice to make some spare cash (I want to go to the States someday).
