I'm a US citizen currently living in America. I sell a product which requires a European bank/merchant account for legal reasons. Actually, a business bank account anywhere outside the US would be fine, as long as it could be used to open a merchant account (anywhere outside the US is fine as well).

I formed a Limited Company in the UK and need a business bank account, in order to open a merchant account to process payments. Anyone know of an inexpensive way I could open a business bank account in Europe without having to physically visit the bank (most of them need you to physically visit to prove your identity inside the bank)? Barclay's allows you to open an account if you deposit $25,000, but I can't afford that at the moment.

    Any other options?

I wouldn't advise seeking help with this kind of thing here. You're likely to attract some shady characters. The above person being a prime example. 11 posts and he magically comes out the woodwork asking you to add him on skype at the mention of needing a bank account.

    I'd be extremely wary.

For something like this you'll want to seek advice from an accountant that deals with offshore banking.

I wouldn't say handing out your Skype name is shady - I help opening bank accounts myself, it's just one cant simply advertise it's webpage here... But to answer the question - I'd go for a Czech bank, as they don't require a personal visit (when opened through an agent).

Second that... was just on the way to write the same. If you need a bank account in Europe you can do that in Latvia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Cyprus, and even in the UK just ask your local bank to help you open an account in any of these countries, it is really easy for them to do compared to the opposite situation :) - Once accomplished you simly Google the VISA EUROPE APPROVED AIS/PCI certified list of payment providers you will quickly find companies like, WireCard, GlobalCollect, RBS WorldPay, EUROPAY and the list continues all of them are great companies and trust worthy, you get paid directly by their Acquiring banks to your EU bank account.

Hope it helps. When you have found a processor MAP drop in here the name or PM and I can add a few comments to it if you like.

DON'T go with any of the people who are PM'ing you already by now.. most of them may be into something!

In Asia you can try Singapore. I think you would have to go there, but they don't require a huge initial deposit. Hong Kong could also be an option but you surely have to go (and it's generally more difficult)
