Thank you. But I'm not so sure about luck not playing a part. I mean, I hate when people are like "Oh wow you're so lucky". That's not what it is. I'm not lucky to be in the position I'm in. I spent a lot of time and money and dedication to put myself here. But I do feel like some people have put just the same amount of time/money/dedication and they still haven't got very far from it. So luck is a factor to me in that sense.

 

Amazing story. it's definitly motivating. I already build up the "never give up" mentality for myself ( basically, i trained my mind to force myself) but this story gave me some healthy motivation along with it.Gonna read it whenever i feel like im doing it all for nothing. Which is not true, but the thought passes through every now and then.

It certainly has been! It's incredibly powerful. The majority of YouTube influencers (especially in the niche's we have been in) have insane amounts of influence on their audience.

We just contacted as many as we could. It was difficult but at the same time, it wasn't. Because most of the sites we ran broke the "in-game ToS" (they don't allow trading currencies for real money), so YouTuber's didn't really want to be affiliated. So we had to find the right people. We managed to find one really good one that didn't have any issues with it, and we offered him a rev share. (Customers got a discount code of 5% and he received 5% of all sales for people that used his code). So him making our site a success gave him a lot in return too.

 

I'm sure there are loads of people that had 100's of Bitcoins when they were worthless / $0.1 each. I don't think anyone could have really expected the huge growth it had.

Update: Purchased a bunch of expired domains relevant to my niche. Starting to build a PBN to try to rank my money site. I probably could have just used an SEO service for a few hundred bucks to rank #1 (I think what I'm trying to rank for is quite low competition), but I've decided to learn stuff myself and go the hard route. Learning is fun when you're not confined to a classroom or lecture hall

Why won't you continue your ventures in video game niche? There are always new games and new ways to make money. Of course, i don't know what exactly you did, but since you know what works, you could just replicate it by twisting it.

I actually did, and kind of am. But it's not really generating much at the moment. The normal traffic source via YouTube is hard to find and the virtual items are currently really hard to purchase. I let my brother take over the project so I can focus on other things.
