    Hello you all...

I hope I am not the only one with this problem...

I have been an avid reader of this forum and love the valuable info that is contained in here...

    but...

reading on a black screen for long periods of time hurts my eyes and I have to stop... rest my eyes and then come back to finish reading...

I think we should give options to this forum as to additional ways to present text...

for example boxing text on white boxes...or

changing the background color to a more grey tone...

I don't know ... just something to make it more pleasant to the eyeball...

    Post your thought...

    Cheers!

There is a drop-down box to change the color scheme at the bottom left of the page.

    Thanks - I didn't know that either!

But after checking out the options, I think I still like the black and gold - mainly for its menu structure.

I was just about to search to see if anyone else had trouble, thanks :)

I spend way too long in front of my computer all day and really struggle with the black. I'm on default now, much easier on the eyes.

    :)

The background definitely doesn't make my eyes hurt, try copy pasting to word or notepad as much as you can then :44:

Wow, didn't know that!! I've been reading this forum for almost 2 years and never figured that out.

As for the OP's question, my eyes hurt the first week but after that I got used to it and now it seems normal to me.

This is Black Hat World. Don't you think the background should be black?

If the background is changed to white, it will become a white hat forum like WF. ;)

Really, changing the yellowish-orange to a dark orange would be an improvement. I always prefer black backgrounds, but the brightness/black contrast needs to be managed carefully. The only issue people have with dark orange is it is basically a permanent Halloween theme. However, I like it because one day of the year shouldn't have a monopoly on what is a really cool color scheme.
