So namecheap told me my name was about to expire and I let it expire. Anyways, I've decided I wanted to keep it but now its not available anymore since someone else registered it.

I looked into it and according to ICANN I have 60 days to possibly have my domain. It expires after 30 but then there's a 30 day hold?

The domain name is also my name, if that helps.

In Namecheap, look for the link that says "reactivate domains" or something to that effect in the sidebar.

It stays with the ability to reactivate from respective tab for 29 days from the day it's dropped.

If you miss that deadline, then with Namecheap you usually have 2-3 more days to contact them and to ask to reanimate it.

Once even that time passes, you can get it back for another 30 days, but the price jumps to ~ $200, too expensive for some domains, but well worth the money for others.

If the domain was one with no demand, but still dear to you, you may get it back after another month as a new registration for nominal price. This option you can not count on, obviously.

Try not to let this happen. You're lucky it's registered with NameCheap.
