I lost 13000 followers in a few months

I have a beauty/fashion account and I had over 205K followers, in under a year I lost 13.000!
I cannot explain why. sure my engagement has dropped a little on some posts since the algorithm but on soms posts it's really high. Still I'm losing about 100 followers a day.

I never bought followers. I only bought likes a couple of times last year but not as a continuing service. Anyone got any clue what might be going on here?

ps I did get two or three emails from instagram claiming someone else tried to log into my account somewhere in the states (i live in the netherlands so it wasn't me) I changed my password but that didn't help if that is the issue.

Instagram section maybe? This is introductions
 
It could be Instagram removing fake instagram pages who liked your account and as a result you are seeing decline in number of followers.

I don't see any other similar accounts suffering from this 'problem'. I always had a steady growth and all of a sudden this is happening to my account.. :S if there are others with the same issue I can't find it anywhere online. it has been going on for so long now it can't be that many bots....
 
Probably Instagram deleted the accounts of the bots so that may be the reason why you've lost so many followers.
 
They were probably bots, there are a few places where you can check how many of your followers are bots, so maybe you can look that up and see if you have many, and if you do probably it's just Instagram deleting those? I don't know.
 
It can be that many because you already had 200k. Its amazingly true how many different types of accounts are under large accounts like yours. some will be obsessed with you, some will have forgotten you existed for months.
