I recently launched a new social network site (thanks BuddyPress and BuddyBoss) dedicated to fishing. Now, I want it to look like it's active and has lots of users. I have Scrapebox but have never really used it, although I assume there must be a way to create dozens of fake profiles over the course of the next week.

Any ideas on how I could do this? Each profile needs to have a picture and some basic info (name, age, hometown).

if your website is a mybb or phpbb forum then ther eis a pluging " fake users on index page " and its does what it says makes the site look busy ......
you can make any user in the db any number of users online for how ever long you want..

i guess, before you 'launch' it, put a whoel load of USEFUL content in there. ask some questions, entice people to sign up.. and forget the... "end of month prize" idea... lol

also create fake users, fake the people online.. im sure it will pick up soon :)

Scrapebox is no good for forums, if you happen to have xrumer that would be perfect for what you want, but is expensive. If you don't already have it I suggest coming to an agreement with someone that does who will be able to fill you forum with profiles and posts.

Thanks for all the replies. We're getting ready to launch the blog which will have guest posts from professional fishermen every week, as well as a weekly fishing report for each of the main areas we're targeting. Hopefully great content like that helps get us started.

Did you bought BuddyBoss ? Why is so not popular on sharing sites, is it protected code or what ?
